ENS has similar skills to Naholo so could definitely fill that role. He would be competing with Wainui on the left wing, but I'd really like to see him at fullback with his speed and stepping to provide a similar threat to DMac from deep. That leaves Lowe and Stevenson for the right wing, along with Sullivan.

I don't really see any explosive winger out there who isn't contracted.

Yet, really good wingers will sit on the bench (if they are lucky) for the Blues. Strange.

I think ENS is a bit shit at 15s, but I hope we’ll see him perform better this year. He can beat a man, but he’s a bit of a small turn-style on D.

By not having Dmac back there, we should have better balance in terms of size at least, I guess.

Do you think Sullivan will get some opportunities in the midfield this year?

He would say that centre is his favoured position. Sullivan has had so few opportunities since he has been in the main squad, so I'm not sure what the situation is there.

The first choice midfield will be Tupaea-ALB with Nankivell as the backup. I'd hope Sullivan is the next option, if he is still contracted, ahead of Wainui and Lowe. Wrampling is one for the future at centre.

going to be interesting how this plays out with contracts
keys to this year will be getting everyone fit eg moli (and signed) and getting brodie and sam back. as long as this happen im sure forward pack will be fine.
backs are going interesting as who has muli year deals and where we can move.
sullivan and pohipi will be at risk with wrampling i would imagine taking one of there spots.
what we really need is that out standing winger or two and how and who that could be. with out knowing what spots are available makes it hard to pick but they could use a spot from midfield and use wainui and lowe as backup .naholo opens up a spot or run loose forwards light (we had lots last year) at this stage Ratave ,Dawai and Narawa ?

No way he would be on a full contract ahead of Wrampling, who starts ahead of him in the NZ U20s, and has more experience at NPC/SR level.

Pick your Fijian winger from within the region.

@bovidae I thought Valance Te Whare had huge potential. Any idea what happened there?

Onisi Ratave may have huge potential - but more likely a Drua recruit. Neria Fomai is a player I hope gets a contract somewhere.

    @arhs

I mentioned after the Waikato NPC squad was named that I was told Te Whare had made himself unavailable for selection. Just enjoying life. Hopefully he is back next year.

I had noticed he played for them in a pre-season game so obviously a late addition.

    Not in this list.

Playing at fullback he scored two of King Country's three tries in their 19-50 loss to NZ Universities.
