I'm also glad Lawsons not blaming the car. The last thing a new driver should be doing is blaming your crew. You need the crew on your side.The team's get their allocation of money based on the team position from last year. For the teams, the constructors championship is more important. So I really doubt that's the case, that he's an afterthought. But he is not confident in the car, for sure

I read an article in the run up to China, that Lawson's car was still using the higher down force rear wing from Melbourne. Not sure if that was actual.

Oh good shit. 5 places made up, one of them being his rival in Yuki. Not a bad recovery.
Hopefully he can sort out his qualifying in Japan in a couple weeks and push for some points.
