If that's their policy then they should never have signed him.
I would think they added a clause in his contract to deal with this type of behaviour.
We may be about to find out what that clause entailed.

We may be about to find out what that clause entailed.from what I have been hearing in media, he certainly did have a clause around his social media...which makes you think one of two things:
1 he is incredibly stupid
2 he is incredibly stupid to use this as a way to get out of his current contract -
I'd be more inclined to think #1 than #2. He's literally just signed a new contract, and has never appeared to want out of Australian rugby. Coming into a World Cup with no other options... it would be strange timing if that's his aim.
I just think he's a simpleton who has surrounded himself with morons.

It's not like he can blame that tweet on being drunk.
-
- Folau is a twat.
- Even now, there are still way too many who think being LGBTQ is a lifestyle. For some, coming out is fine. For others, it's violence and ostracism, some have been killed over it. It can often depend where you live, the beliefs of family/friends etc. Religious fuckwits have caused immeasurable harm to LGBTQ people. Words matter. They fester in hearts and minds, and sometimes provoke action.
It's fine for those who are utterly unaffected to say oh he's just being a piston wristed gibbon, ignore, but it's a bit different when you are in the LGBTQ community and get the slurs and discrimination etc from religious fuckfaces on a regular basis.

He married one as well, as did his wife.

Izzy might have gotten more sympathy if he included Vegans and Hipsters on his list.
-
I guess it leads to the question of whether it's OK to hire someone with appalling views so long as they don't express them. Folau made it quite clear how he felt last year. Knowing that, should the ARU have resigned him even if he promised not to express those views?

Yeah if he had of said men with man buns are going to burn in Hell I probably would have bought a tahds jersey this weekend.
-
@rotated bravo. Time to acknowledge dumb talk but more importantly promote people to be anti- fragile. I believe that's the new vernacular.
Can't stop people talking crap, can show people why it's not so dangerous, unless you want to let it get to you

I think he kind of did by mentioning witchcraft.

As mentioned above
Leviticus 19:27

Someone elsewhere pointed this out - if RA sanction Folau, it won't be for the content of the post as such, it will be because they instructed him not to do something which he then did.
Putting to one side whether you think they should have given him that directive in the first place, the fact is they did. And he disobeyed that instruction in a very public manner.
So he needs to face some consequence for that.
-
He also signed up to the inclusion policy, post of which I quoted above. That's been around since 2014. He's breaking his terms of service, bye bye
"“These comments are really disappointing and clearly don’t reflect the spirit of inclusion and diversity that we support,” a Qantas statement said. “We are pleased to see Rugby Australia’s condemnation of the comments and will await the outcome of their review.”
Chose a homophobe who can jump or Qantas $, Raelene

@Kirwan Not comfortable with restricting free speech at all, even stupid drivel like this
I am grateful to live in a free society with religious freedoms, press freedoms and very little censorship. But there are obligations on employees to uphold the values of the organisations they work for and abide by their contractual arrangements.
Folau posted from social media accounts that identify him as a Wallaby and an Rugby Australia employee. Their content and tone go against the code of conduct that he signed. No one is taking away his democratic rights to have his own opinions and to practise his religion as long as it doesn't harm anyone else, but as an employee there are consequences to communications that are totally at odds with the values and aims of his employers who remunerate him very well indeed.

Shocking picture of Israel Foolau cavorting and getting intimate with a gay supporting man who loves his corner damaged beard, rounded haircut, wicked ink, and the many fabric types he wears at once
