Back to the Future 1 and 2
Not really a review as such cos I think we all agree the first is a bonafide classic....the second gets a bit mean spirited ( Biff turning from a meathead to a full on psycho never really cut it with me )
Full of contrivances and contradictions ( why didn't Doc time travel elsewhere so he didn't have to bring Jennifer into the future ? Why does Martys son look EXACTLY like he does ? how come George and Lorraine don't think their son looks eerily similar to the bloke who sang at the high school dance then vanished ? )
But yeah.....fucken classic pair of flicks ( won't review 3 just yet as its not on Netflix )
I suppose the reason I'm doing this is it's so amusing to watch this with kids who love the storyline and humour but wonder why there are no flying cars these days ? after all 2015 is years ago now and my boys both make the point a flying car would ensure I was never late to pick them up.
Anyone else watched these two with their kids lately ?

Dude he tried to rape a girl in the back seat of his car.

Us - unsettling and brilliant. It's not a political movie like Get Out was and I found it more enjoyable because I didn't need to consider the point to everything. I did work out the surprise ending in the first 15 minutes but it didn't ruin the movie at all.
5 Peele's out of 5 Key's

All Eyes on Me
Pretty damn decent Netflix movie about Tupac. Holy shit he led an action pack life and achieved so much before his "Thug Life" caught up with him. The guy they got to play him COULD NOT have done a better job, absolutely extraordinary performance and an absolute doppelganger too. Not sure why this wasn't more critically acclaimed, I guess movies about homosexual singers from the 70s/80s are considered more easy to watch ? his life was far more interesting than Freddies or Eltons.......
Tupac did some fucken cool tunes too, Samoan blokes I used to work with in the early 2000s introduced me to his stuff. Very clever and talented guy.
4 platinum records out of 5 gold discs.

Captain Marvel
If I'm honest my review is constrained to the first 40ish minutes of the film. I wasn't particularly paying attention because it looked indistinguishable from a bunch of other movies in the genre. Aliens, some ridiculous unarmed combat and pew pew. I got bored and turned it off.

Cowboys and Aliens
A movie starring Han Solo/Indiana Jones, James Bond, Cowboys AND Aliens ? This should be THE BEST movie ever made right ????
Well not quite......but it's still pretty fucken good fun if not quite as good as I expected. Ford and Craig are both sensational, chick is hot and just the right number of good/irritating supporting characters many of whom get killed in spectacular fashion by the Aliens......which are also cool. I love Craigs weapon too......
4 pistols out of 5 arm lasers

Rim of the World. Kids movie about Alien invasion on Netflix. Think Goonies without the charm, good script and enjoyment. Youngest seemed to enjoy it but a fair few comments were pretty inappropriate for the young ones. In other words, decent story but appalling shit dialogue and kids you want to die rather than save the day.

Yep that one has tantalised me on Netflix for a week or two now. One to potentially watch with the boys but this review has certainly put me off....

It looks really good but I think your boys are a tad too young. It's one of those weird films that is supposed to be for young teens but they then oversteps the mark for no reason other than lame jokes. Stick to the 80s classics.

Odd how that still shot is transposed from the actual scene in the trailer.

The Mule
Clint looking extremely old and frail and he's definitely no Harry Callaghan, Walt Kowalski, Man with no Name or Joe Kidd here. A very "real" character with multiple flaws. Decent story, pretty leisurely paced and a bit bittersweet at the end.
4 cocaine bags out of 5 DEA agents ( extra points for surely being the great mans last movie )
