What a game!!!
-
Gagai MOTM. He was awesome tonight.
Have to say that young Ponga showed some courage out there. Got absolutely smashed in that first half abut kept going. Then second half took on the line and made some good plays.
NSW weren’t far away but just got pegged down their end for too long and weren’t able to create enough pressure.
Not a bad game. Came within two tenths of the hype!!
-
When the teams look evenly matched , and you had to place a bet , I would back qld ,
Not sure what it is , or how you measure it , but it just seems to mean more to them .
-
It was a cracking game. Thought Qld started better, but it was so fast that Cook and Tedesco came in to it very early, and they were ripping Qld up. Klemmer was huge in the first 30 minutes as well.
But Qld took back control before half time. Their halves were playing really well, Munster's running game especially. But for a bit of luck, they would have had points.
In the 2nd half Qld lifted massively on defense, and as expected, the NSW halves disappeared from the game. Hunt got better and better, DCE kicked really well, and Munster was a constant threat running. Then Ponga chips in, and it was a nightmare for NSW.
For NSW to find that final surge was a credit to them, and created an awesome finish. They seriously looked shot when Qld went 10 points in front. Sets the series up really well.

Not only is Boganpalooza still one of the best thread titles ever, but all things are possible in Origin.
Retired Billy Slater Sensationally Wins Man Of The Match For Origin Game One
Former Queensland great Billy Slater has sensationally been awarded Man Of The Match in the wake of Game One of State of Origin this evening.
In an incredible turn of events for the ex Melbourne Storm Fullback, Slater was called up on stage to be presented with the honour by Wally Lewis just moments ago.
The decision has left many baffled and confused as to how the decision was made.
Slater won the medal despite the fact he didn’t play a second of the first game in the series, leaving many questioning the call.
The boy from Innisfail, who was in full kit for some reason, accepted the medal and gave ‘full credit to the boys.’
Since the announcement was made a short time ago, Slater has shortened significantly to win the Wally Lewis Medal for the man of the series for a second year running.
More to come. -
@Donsteppa the Betoota is never not on point

More to come.Massively harsh on Cameron Smith. Whoever gave it to Slater clearly has an issue with the great man.
