Looks shit. Holes at blindside and 14, while the midfield is a muddle

Saw Captain Marvel, quite a good watch but one of the weaker Marvel offerings in recent times. 3.5 tesseracts out of 5 kidnapped brainwashed superheroes
Aquaman, enjoyed the film but found the plot lines filled with holes. The mantis guy went down a little easy (is he alive for a potential comeback? ), young Tem looked weird did they CGI him? Amber Heard looked saucy and the final showdown was quite exciting. 3.5 tridents out of 5 trench people

And just to annoy Rancid, Jane Foster confirmed as Thor with Portman. So they are doing the comic sex swap.
For Rancid too...

Looks like it could be very funny. Or the best bits are in the trailer....

Of course they are. With End Game now over the dam will burst. She will no doubt be a lesbian (or possibly trans) poc as well. Actually, on a certain level that would be nice to see, although there are other genres more suited to satisfying those types of interests.
This is so predictable as well. When these new woke films inevitably get poor reviews or bad box office returns, they'll blame the usual suspects. God forbid they actually set out to make the best, most entertaining movies possible.

Ha, too slow. Valkerie is in the film too so there's your poc and gasp she's going to be a lesbian as well

Well I never. There's a surprising twist!

@Rancid-Schnitzel They hinted at it in the last film.
Look, I find it stupid as well, but the key is to include things like this and still have an entertaining film and make it incidental to the plot. It shouldn't be a marketing strategy either.
If they really want to normalise reactions to gay people, or other race representation in movies, then it should just include them and not make a big deal about it.
That means having a good story and an entertaining film. I think Tiaka can deliver that without beating us over the head with woke bullshit.

Fundamentally I have zero problems with it if it's done to enhance the narrative or create a cool character. But if it's all about virtue signalling and being woke first and entertainment second then it's never going to end well.

Yep that's the difference. I was watching that Shazam movie with the Mrs last week and thought it was f'n weird how outta nowhere they had to mention the fat kid liked cock (ok not so much in those words) I dunno if he is gay in the comic series or even if there is a comic series but it had nothing to do with the plot, just a random out of nowhere weird ass virtue signal. "Hey fellow gays, this movie is for you too!"
I mentioned it to the Mrs (her bro is gay and she's pretty sensitive to those sort of issues) and she thought maybe it was just so gay folk could also identify with superhero. I guess that is their plan but..It's pretty damn shallow and just says that gay folk lack the humanity to identify with anyone who doesn't have their sexual preference. It's not inclusive it's actually really divisive.
I'm not black but I identified with Will Smith of the Fresh Prince growing up (same ears). I ain't gay or a gangster but I talked like Omar for a bit after watching 'The Wire'. I'd imagine most gay folk have no issue with identifying with movie characters even when their preference for a particular type of genitalia isn't spelt out.
Really hope capitalism bites this woke insanity in the ass.

@Rembrandt
I watched Shazam in the weekend and didnt even notice the gay inference/suggestion. -
@taniwharugby You gotta be on-the-ball mate!
-
@taniwharugby It wasn't too in your face, didn't have a problem with it myself.
The character in Stranger Things was well handled too.

I recently mentioned the classic crap but great film No Retreat No Surrender. Like probably millions of white kids, the main character had Bruce Lee posters all over his bedroom walls. How incredible that a white kid could identify with an Asian. Shocking. Amazingly enough, the same thing applied to Michael Jordan, Bo Jackson, Prince etc etc and I'll bet every single guy on TSF wanted to be Jonah Lomu in 1995. Fark I still want to be Jerome Kaino. Going out on a limb, but I don't think making Valkyrie or 007 or Superman a lesbian poc will make a jot of difference to how people perceive this group, insofar as they actually give a shit about colour or sexuality in the first place. More likely people will see it for what it is, just a weak attempt at virtue signalling.

I wanted to be Steve Pokere, I'm about as good with money as he is. Does that count?
