Highlight of the US democratic socialist convention in the weekend
Long video here
That’s one of the best things I’ve watched in ages. Modern day radical lefty ideology coming to a logical conclusion where nobody is allowed to say or do anything because somebody is offended. Absolutely superb.

Did anyone stop to think how exclusive jazz hands is? How do blind people know that people are clapping? Is there a quota? How do they determine who should clap and who should do jazz hands?

Point of personal privilege, Jegga here , him , aren’t jazz hands cultural appropriation?

Good point, but one of my hands identifies as John Coltrane.

So Bernie Sanders is on the Joe Rogan Podcast.
Only part way through, Joe is challenging things though I wish he had a deeper understanding of the opposing economic arguments so he could push harder. This is a way better format than the democrat debates.

That was pretty disappointing, no mention of the open borders nonsense hes been spouting lately. He announced the podcast on his dogs instagram, as usual the internet delivered

Now this really would be delicious. At least she would be saved from the horrific patriarchical, white supremacy that the US operates on. She'd also be away from all those pesky Jewish folk whom she isn't particularly fond of. Win Win really.
Can Ilhan Omar Be Sent Back to Somalia?

After 2020 I’m up for her being deported to the shithole she came from . She can continue to be “ not a misprint “ till then .
Btw I believe when she says some people did something she means Israel were behind it 9/11. ![alt text](image url)

Bernie came across pretty well in Rogan. I wish Joe called him out more about the wiping of student debt. I couldn't disagree with this more. Sure, reform it, stop predatory lending, educate people before they sign up, stop higher education selling nonsense degrees for silly tuition costs (and idiots signing up for them). But the moral hazard of just wiping it off is absurd. What about the people that already paid theirs off and sacrificed massively to do so? Why does the taxpayer have to foot the bill for someone getting a degree so they can earn more than the average person?

100% is my reaction also. Not only is it morally wrong IMO, but it's a huge political misstep in a similar vein to Shorten's franking credit and negative gearing policies in Australia. Bernie will alienate too many college educated, professional Democrat voters who will rightly feel that the changes are unjust and that the rules are being changed on them and that those who have done the "wrong" thing are being unjustly rewarded.
If you've spent the first three years out of college after getting a nursing degree living in a shoebox, eating ramen noodles and having a pretty limited social life in order to pay off your debt and then your mate who took six years to finally drop out a basket weaving course gets their debt waived you are going to have a pretty visceral reaction to that. And that is the "privileged" scenario - what about the thousands who enlisted and paid a physical/mental toll in order to get their education paid by the military?
If he was proposing nationalizing student debt and then increasing it only with inflation this would be more palatable. Still a crazy idea - but compared to just wiping the debt workable.
-
@TeWaio I absolutely disagree with whiping it off, but the Dems have gone in with the "resonable" position as their starting point, whereas the GOP had gone in with populist hardcore tax cuts and BS about balanced budgets (which they never do) as their opening position. My two cents is that the dems should campaign on populist and politically unrealistic (in congress) positions to achieve their more realistic goals.
