Can somebody tell me why Kurt Baker is even in the NZ Sevens Team...?..I just don’t rate the guy..anybody else feel the same..?

Men's rankings after one tournament. This list clearly shows that they award different points to those ranked 5th - 8th, but withouth 5th to 8th place play-offs having been played. I really would like to see an explanation of how they've come to this ranking.

I think there will be a lot of experimenting with squad composition this season, so they can give plenty of game time to all players in both squads. Then, hopefully, they can pick the best squads for the Olympics. Really hoping that injuries are not going to interfere with that selection process.

We've had a few years with really bad injury porfiles, often going into the last games with less than half on the bench, not enough standing

@Machpants Yeah, it's a shame. The BFs were missing some big names (Hirini, Blyde, Woodman) during this tournament, so they'll still have a good chance of winning when injury strikes, but the AB7s have less depth (or - at least - depth of sufficient quality). It will be interesting to see who of the young SR players will eventually make the Olympic squad.
