I really fucking miss watching footy. I really took that for granted.
I'm totally fucking over this. 100%
Not long now, footy will be back.
The boys were out with the neighbours for 2 hours this morning playing cricket on the driveway. They loved it!

Got tested for COVID today...and got the flu jab at the same time.
COVID swab was a breeze compared to the jab as my arm is still sore while all that marching powder in the 80s seems to have cleared my sinuses permanently so I hardly felt the swab at all. -

Living in a higher risk location - Residential lodge with about 60 odd residents - mostly long term residents (some have been here for 20 odd years and minimum stay is 3 months) and about 50% of whom are over 50.Basically if it gets in here, we're fucked. So I'm not quite as blasé about returning to Level 2 as many - nor do I think we'll return to pre-Covid normal or should do.
-
@SynicBast fair enough!
Hope it returns negative!
Yeah 'normal' even once we drop from L2 will look different to what we did before covid-19

gawd, I'm seriously considering working for MSD/WINZ again, last time I did, I ended up moving to Aus.
200,000+ expected additional beneficiaries plus training programmes etc, seems like a bit of extra work coming up...

I'm used to being yelled at a lot, I worked for an Australian super fund during the GFC when half their investment options were frozen and they got pennies in the dollar back, as well as working for 5 years in early release claims. If I didn't get at least one customer threatening self-harm It was a good day.

I'd rather be on the other side of the desk to be honest than having to be one of those 200000 odd

@SynicBast wishing you well with the results 🤞🏻
Today's been the weirdest day, more traffic on the roads on my drive home from work, people everywhere, looked like zero social distancing (2m spacing) going on...
I have a horrible feeling that this is a big mistake, too soon, don't get me wrong, my husband needs to resume normal work as much as possible soon but this just feels so risky...
Tonight,I'm almost at the same level of anxiety as at the beginning of all this. -

Tonight,I'm almost at the same level of anxiety as at the beginning of all this.Test came back negative. now it's just waiting for the other stuff although as management in WINZ/MSD are running for cover for almost 30 years of wilful and deliberate breach of the Act, I think some hiring decisions may be delayed. When I last worked at WINZ, it was an unwritten KPI that the more eligible funds that were not released to a beneficiary the better your performance review was. The old saw that beneficiaries had to ask specifically for an entitlement to get it was no myth. That's why there was an upsurge is people using advocates to assist them.

How intrusive did you find the test mate? Ms Cato No2 took the test over here a few days ago (still awaiting results despite the 48 hour "service standard" and the testing hub being almost empty). She found the nasal one not too bad but really disliked the throat one. I've been thinking I may prefer the virus to the test after seeing @Kirwan graphic some time ago.

Local fish n chip shop opened. Mental health tick up.
The award winning Crispies in Exmouth has been open all the time, though with a strict order in advance and collect system, so anyone needing their fix of battered chips can have their pain assuaged.
Yes. Battered chips. And no, they are not awful, they are surprisingly light (well lighter than you would imagine) and remarkably tasty.
-
@Catogrande interesting name. I'm pretty sure crispies is what the chippies here call the leftover bits of batter they sell isn't it? Had never seen that before.

We used to buy 20c bags of crispies from the fish and chip shot after school back in the 80s. They were glorious.

@Nepia used to get 10c potato fritters at the chippie near high school, play spacies while waiting for $2 worth, or walk a little further for $1 cheeseburgers or $1 Georgie Pies, life was good!
10c potato fritters. Get full for less than a dollar!
