Home Games
Netflix series about small, often localised sports around the world
Ep 1 is amazing. Calico Storico. The rugby-ish organised fight in Florence. Fucking cool.Have also watched about free diving, and that sport from central Asia that's polo with a goat carcass.
Great series. E1 was awesome as you say, funny watching those pansy "backs" standing around for minutes at a time waiting for the "forwards" to clear a path with violence. So good.
The free diving one was average I thought, mostly because it was so localised, knowing that are way better international competitors.
Highland games fun but not new.
And the Kyrgyz's are fucking lunatics and epic horsemen! I could watch Goat Soccer all night!

Hinterland: to be honest, I felt it dragged a bit. The female lead was woefully under used and some lazy direction too. ie too many long meaningful looks rather than dialogue. Almost got my prediction right, felt that the Superintendent was a nonce from episode 1. Turns out he was just covering for nonces.

Buzkashi. Don't spell that wrong, could end up with a different sport altogether.

Episode two of Perry Mason done, it's really good.
Annoying though - it seems at the moment in time it's based, there was no light in the world, so good luck seeing a scene. Oh and even if you can see it, you may not hear it unless your telly is at about 80% max volume. Maybe not one for you @taniwharugby
It's classic how Rhys gets called boyo all the time by Lithgow. Is that something they've added or was that in the original?

World on Fire - BBC series set during WW2.
Sean Bean is the big name, but JUlia Brown and Zofia Wichlacz were more appealing.
Was a decent series, nothing special, but a good time filler.

@Machpants @Catogrande not in this one, he stays home, is a pacifist with PTSD...the top girl plays his daughter.
Oh, also watched Barkskins (a NatGeo series based on a PUlitzer prizewinning book) set in the late 1600s in New France ...
Was a bit average, slow burner that kinda fizzled out.

Warrior Nun - nice rack
Rack or no rack I just couldn’t get into this. Sexy, lethal nuns and it was still awful. I’m getting worried about myself.

Show is certainly much weaker than I thought it would be.
Still that young lady has a very nice set.

@Bones S1?
It is ok, some good stuff but yeah too much annoying tweeny stuff, not sure if they think adding that appeals to a wider audience or something....debating (with myself) if I give S2 a crack.
STarted both Dark & Outsiders, former looks good, latter I'm still deciding
@Crucial weaker than you thought it would be?? I'd argue the title gave most of the quality of it away
