Two of Ms Dodds' constituents (possibly activists in her own local party) write bizarre puff piece comparing the little-known Shadow Chancellor to the PM of New Zealand. The Independent is so desperate that it publishes it.

*** have learned ****.
Apparently the Russian State uses bots, RT, Sputnik and state-owned businesses as part of its disinformation campaign.

As there's no "Russia swung the Brexit vote" smoking gun in the report, I guess it's time to start a new conspiracy theory.....
"There is no evidence of Russia trying to influence a Brexit vote, but evidence of Russia interfering in the Scottish independence vote, a campaign led by the SNP.
But there is evidence governments led by Blair, Brown, David Cameron & Theresa May repeatedly ignored the danger of Russian interference in UK elections.*Interesting that Russia supported the pro-Remain SNP & the PM's who ignored the dangers of Russian meddling were all strongly pro-Remain, don't you think?"

@Victor-Meldrew tldr Boris & co are worse than the Ruskis?

The Independent has become so bizarre a newspaper than not even conspiracy theorists read it

No. I was taking the piss out of the loopier sections of the commentariat who see Russian influence behind every political view they disagree with - primarily pro-Remain "journalists".

While you wait, Tory MP sent string of messages to 21-year-old intern begging her to "fool around with him".
Thank fuck we have some people in Parliament who act like normal people...

@Victor-Meldrew No evidence at all that Russia swung or successfully influenced the Brexit vote. But lots of evidence of Russian money and mendling across the UK political spectrum and that the Establishment really didn't want the matter looked into. It's a thorough report and inconvenient to those fed lines to the bots, as well as those who have made money from facilitating money-laundering from authoritarian regimes and their integration of individuals who made fortunes in dubious ways into the Uk establishment
-
The usual Remainers are now calling for an investigation into the investigation of Russian interference into the Brexit vote as the investigation of Russian interference into the Brexit vote didn't show any Russian interference into the Brexit vote.
Think that sums things up....

Thank heavens the UK political establishment is so much more open, honest and free from external influence than the dreadful US system which allows people like Trump or Biden to be elected.
