Farage making his point but it is much wider than just illegals.
A lot of London councils were caught buying flats and houses in cheaper parts of the country and using them for social housing a few years back and letting the tenant's new council pick up tab for social care etc.
Was called social dumping - not sure if it's still going on.

There’s a new “town” outside Exeter called Cranbrook. It is known locally as Crimebrook. It was built with the requisite amount of affordable housing but then of course you have to fill those houses. Luckily we were offered many deserving people from large metropolitan areas.

So many holes / bullshit not sure where to start ..... ok I’ll start here.
50% of new Lords are Brexiteers .... well given 52% of UK voted Brexit then it means they are under represented.

So, the first of the big tech taxes has gone through and Amazon has of course, passed it directly back onto the consumers.
And of course, the "pundits" are out in strength talking about how all this does is increase consumer prices & affects the little guy etc. I've even read quite a few people saying that Sunak is clearly not very bright if he didn't see this forthcoming.
The stupidity of what you can read out there never ceases to amaze me. I personally think this is a fantastic initiative which ticks all the right boxes of encouraging innovation, pushing people to find other ways to sell / source their products (that's not Amazon) and puts a premium on crap you buy online vs what you can buy on your high street.
Although I'm probably just really happy as anything which doesn't elevate income taxes to me is a win-win.

Good. Let them pass it on to the consumer and see what that does to their business model.
Fuck 'em.

@Catogrande at 2% I suspect fuck all ... but that 2% does go straight into the government coffers.

Ramp it to 5% and Amazon can suck up half!

Is the Labour Party about to split?
Seems the hard left Corbyn clan & the Centre left Starmer are not getting along.
What a surprise!

Twas the same after Foot got his arse handed to him in 83. Took ages for them to get their act together and become electable again.

Not really politics, but I found this interesting.
British supermarket chain, Co-Op, was called out by a trans activist for advertising in The Spectator. For those that don't know, The Spectator is a (in my opinion) fantastic publication which promotes thinking generating debate and refusing to tow the line. That of course means that any article where they question any sort of woke orthodoxy attracts huge amounts of criticism from the activists. Accustions (unfounded in my view) of Islamaphobia, Transphobia etc follow them routinely.
Anyway, one of the co-op online folks (likely a Bot) has said they will raise with their media folks to ensure they aren't using them again. Chairman of the spectator, one Andrew Neil, has then posted the below.
There is hope folks, there is hope.
