Late to the party, but most middle-aged male cyclists are giant piston wristed gibbons.
The best are the ones who drive their Volkswagen or Audi to the cafe, get out their fancy bike and sit with their lycra clad piston wristed gibbon mates outside.
You're an adult, wear some nice clothes and take up golf.
A definite generalisation but one I find I agree with wholeheartedly.
Lycra only looks good on a miniscule proportion of the population......actually no, it merely looks "less bad" on extremely skinny, fit people.
We've done this already, and confirmed (well, I did anyway) that it looks great on me
I know you’ll be upset that I’m sharing the selfie you sent me but we’ll let the fern decide.....
Glorious day that. I've put a few kilos back on since then, but its a nice memory.
the real MVP is your bike, what a unit !!!!!!!
You'll notice its been altered to be a transexual bike, reinforced to manly levels, but with the top bar angled down like a ladies frame to accomodate my belly. A beautiful machine

Never too late for comments like this. Lycra clad tossers.

Don't forget the hobbling up to the counter on special clicky cycling shoes like a scrubber in high heels after too many shandys.
Worth an upvote on its own but would like to double upvote for resurrecting the term scrubber.

It's summer and the Omaha crowd have arrived from Remuera. The pub has been done up and that is where they seem to be (much to our displeasure). I much prefer our local bogans with no shoes in the pub.
Have you ever seen any of them on a bike (no not her)?
Dickheads.Chuck in the 50 year old "surfies" driving around with boards on the roof (when then is no surf) clogging up the inadequate roads, and not wearing shirts in the supermarket, and you have our summer guests to the region. No wonder you are heading overseas again.

@Snowy Don't get the attraction of Omaha TBH Unless it's the Hamilton thing of "it ain't that great - but it's close to plenty of places that are".
The 21st century Pauanui...
My mother used to call both of those places "Remuera by the sea" and hated them both, in spite of living quite close to Remuera and Omaha over the years.
Omaha used to be great before the knobs moved in. They don't even shop locally and provide nothing to the community. The place has tumbleweeds in winter, just deserted. I loved the place when I was in my teens, used to drive up, sleep on the beach, surf, fish all day. Had the place to ourselves. Sad to go there now, apparently that is "progress".

this, right here, might be the peak of the thread. look at it, in all its "things were better in my day" magnificence

Actually just have to keep moving north to find that surfing fishing thing, without plebs (or snobs) ruining it now.
I will run out of island eventually.
I spent New Year's Eve at the Waipapakauri pub... if(/when) that place gets over-run by piston-wristed Aucklanders, it's time for the world to just end. We're done.

@SynicBast what about those fluffybunnies that need to chat in a lift. Even worse when you're forced to take off headphones. I'm going somewhere, not socialising, just fuck right off.
Jesus yes. And if they turn round with their backs to the lift door to do it? Fuck off sunshine, you’re making everybody feel uncomfortable now, just turn around and shut up for 2 fucking minutes.
There are no friends in a lift.
