@Donsteppa based on what I see up here, thats a no.
Says it was someone who had come through MIQ, my first thought was it would have been through NOrth Port.

Yep...everytime I've stopped to use it this week here I've ended up blocking the flow of shoppers...
-
wonder how quick they can determine which variant it is (ie if its one of those more contagious ones)
-
@Smudge dont think we have any Covid Hotels up here, so caught it in someone elses hood!
I know they are unlikely to do this, but providing a false test in the media to trigger people into taking this thing seriously wouldnt be a bad idea!
-
@taniwharugby assuming they did get the 3 day test -- and possibly got a pre-flight test as well.
Could mean they caught it late in the quarantine period.
Well, let's see how it goes this afternoon

So this would be someone who passed the Day 12 tests I assume. Eek.
worse - it's someone linked to someone who passed the 12 day test.
Fark, summer coudl be about to be cancelled
Have both not tested positive? Just the non-quarantined person???
That IS worse!!!

Covid 19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins said there was not yet any evidence of actual community "transmission" in Northland. "It's still most likely this is a border case."
Hopefully this person self isolated the moment they started feeling ill.
I guess one positive (for those not in Northland) is that it would be easier to put Northland into a higher level than most other areas in NZ (aside from putting one of the islands into a higher level)

Northland has been pretty enthusiastic about trying to stop the virus taking root there (if the press coverage was to be believed). Hopefully this can be squashed ASAP

Trying to read something positive from this, is that it is apparently Hipkins who will be fronting the briefing today at 4, I expect if we were in for a major change of level, Jacinda would be fronting it.
Dr Ashley Bloomfield and Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins will provide an update at 4pm.
Objective must be to avoid lockdown, ACT's Seymour says
The ACT party has released a statement about today's probable community case. Here's what party leader David Seymour said:
“If today’s probable case of Covid-19 in Northland turns out to be community transmission the Government’s overarching objective must be avoiding another lockdown,” says ACT Leader David Seymour.
“The best news would be that this is a false alarm, but if it’s not then a number of things have to happen very quickly to protect the community.
“First, mass testing will need to be rolled out. How soon can this be in place? Is the resource standing by to rapidly put in place the infrastructure for mass testing in the region?

have heard about long queues in NOrth SHore supermarkets...
So south of whangarei including mangawhai, dargaville to helensville are where she had been, but by all accounts she was meticulous with her app use

Thankfully, imagine if she wasn't.
