Ya, the Robin Hood trailer looked pretty good - people getting a massive sword in the head and shit <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

It really is Gladiator 2. (YAY!)<br />
<br />
I defy anyone to watch big Russ smoke those 6 guys & end with the double handed beheading in Gladiator & not pee themselves just a little bit at the awesomeness of it. Its like the bit in Star Wars when you realise Han Solo has come back & shot those last couple of Tie Fighters.<br />
<br />
Yes Russ, yes I am entertained. -
Saw Invictus last night - thought it was very good.<br />
<br />
The rugby scenes in it, were very realistic, most impressive. For the non rugby player they infused parts of the story to give ideas as to how to play rugby, which I also thought was good for the American audience. As much to a number of you on here's surprise - they didn't paint the All Blacks off to be villians. In fact the opposite - we were portrayed very well, especially our favourite man - JONAH!<br />
The haka wasn't too bad, could have been better, but could have been worse, so no complaints.<br />
<br />
Also some of the characters were a close resemblance, so they were trying to stuck to the true story. For instance the little scruffy haired guy they had for Merths.<br />
<br />
Story line was good as well - but most of us should know it anyway.<br />
Freeman and Damon both played their parts very well, no surprise there as they're both brilliant actors. A reasonable bit of humor throughout as well, which was good.<br />
<br />
Overall I thought it was a very good movie. To watch as a spectacle, to portray the game we love, and to also show the team we love. -
2012 - a tale of man vs nature, looking into your soul and seeing the depths of human spirit, how mans survival instinct and selfishness can be overcome by the heart and togetherness.<br />
<br />
3/10 -
Jennifers Body is pretty awesome (given Megan Fox is Jennifer) <br />
<br />
The movie however, is not so awesome...wannabe cult horror type flick, 6/10 -
Went to see
2012'. The story is corny, it has a predictable ending but the special effects were amazing. Out of 10 .... 8<br /> <br /> Also went to see
The Time Travellers Wife'. Clever idea but the director didn't manage to pull it off. Still trying to work out why the time traveller travelled back in time. He disappeared, arrived at his new location naked, stole some clothes and immediately jumped back to a his life with his wife and family (albeit sometimes in a different year). Out of 10....5.<br />
<br />
Has anyone seen `Avatar'? What's it like? Someone said you have to view it through 3D glasses (?) -

Stunning, caught it on an Imax screen in 3D...visually brilliant. Cant imagine seeing it any other way would do it justice. -
Missed District 9 at the movies but saw it on DVD the other day. Now I don't know how to actually do a spoiler on this new format so a mod can feel free to do it for me but for those who haven't seen it....<br />
<br />
<br />
SPOILER BELOW !!!!!!********<br />
<br />
<br />
How come these Aliens who could literally rip people to pieces were herded up and treated like slaves ? not only that they had weapons and surely they could easily break out and take over Jburg ? There were 1.8 million of them, did they not communicate and think "fuck this lets get out of here, those with weapons go in front" <br />
<br />
After all those were some of the coolest guns in movie histpry, it would only take 20 or 30 of them leading from the front to annailate an entire armed force surely....<br />
<br />
Maybe this was discussed cos I was a bit tired and pissed while watching it so I may have missed it. -
I also saw Avatar in 3D on the Imax screen. Pretty damn cool. I was skeptical about the 3D, but it was actually quite neat, and integrated into the movie. Not as distracting as I thought it would be. First movie I have seen in the theater in about a year, and was worth it. I thought the less obvious 3D stuff (like the floating ash after Jake Sully wakes up alone after the Home Tree was destroyed) was better than the 'obvious" stuff (like the golf balls near the beginning of the flick)

Yup exactly how i thought, you expect movies in 3D to play on it far too much (things flying towards your face etc)<br />
But avatar didnt do that, it just enhanced the experience, made you feel like your actually there. -
Saw 2012 , the story was as predictable as hell but i thought it was worth the price of admision for the special effects alone . 8/10<br />
Saw Avatar . Not a bad film but at nearly three hours it dragged out a little . Still well worth going to see . 7/10<br />
Saw The Time Travellers Wife . Movie was ok but a few bits were a little slow and pointless , i still enjoyed it though . Mrs Jack had just finished the book which meant she found the movie a little disappointing as she said the book was brilliant . 6/10 -
I wonder how they'll sell this if and when it comes out on dvd?
<br />
<br />
you generally get a double sided DVD with a 2d version & a 3d version & give away shit 3d glasses. thats what pretty much all of the 3d releases have done. Interestingly (or not) 3D movies MASSIVELY underperform on DVD, they are a real stinker, probably because people assume you have to watch them in 3D, <br />
<br />
Watched Avatar (like everyone else) over the break, pretty good, great CGI - after 30 minutes or so you forget its CGI, which is pretty much the hallmark of great CGI in my book. Story is a bit hokey but its still very entertaining.<br />
<br />
Also watched Let The Right One In (Swedish vampire movie) very arty & surreal, I liked it but it was very strange, not scary or horrific, more like a work of art than a movie. -
Saw Angels And Demons last night . Way better than The DaVinchi Code with an excellent twist at the end . 7/10

Watched that in the weekend as well. Thought it was pretty good. I liked the DaVinchi code as well. Like movies which uses real places as part of the plot - I think it makes it more interesting. This was an enjoyable movie, well recommended. -
I saw Up in the Air this weekend. The Clooney flick where he plays a corporate downsizer who flies all around the country firing people. Pretty good movie, worth a watch, with a good story. It also has Vera Ann Farmiga in it, who played Leo di Caprio and Matt Damons' love interested in the Departed. I remembered her being pretty hot in the Departed. Not so much in this movie. Holy hell, she certainly aged in the last four years or so. <br />
<br />
I also saw the Blindside, the Sandra Bullock movie based on the real life story of Ravens tackle Michael Oher and the Tuoey family who adopted him. While they certainly took quite a few liberties with the actual story, I really enjoyed the movie. In fact, I think it is a better sports movie than Invictus, and wquld recommend people see it before Invictus.
