@MN5 This movie will complete the adaptation of the original book?
But with plans for a Dune 3 based on Dune Messiah?
from what ive heard i hope not, i havent read it but have been told that all the sequels/prequels are super weird...even compared to the original
i hope this one is as good as the first and thats it, just a "perfect" couple of movies
....hollywood will probably make loads more and try and milk every cent

It looks fucking awesome. Mrs TA and Miss TA have already passed on the opportunity, so The Boy and I will head to the cinema on opening weekend to get some of that.
Will re-watch the first one (again) in preparation.
I never read the books or watched the original film. Went straight to the new movie and it was outstanding. Will be eager to see part 2
I read Dune in preperation of the first one coming out, the trailer had got me very interested, i thougt the movie was pretty much perfect, hit exactly the tone i had in my head reading the book, possibly the only time i have ever said i dont think you need to read the book

Probably repeating myself as I am prone to do on here but there is a version of the 1984 film on YouTube which I reckon is well worth a watch.
Some of the performances are “interesting” and the special effects are less than special in a lot of cases……but it explains stuff way more than the theatrical release.
Also young Virginia Madsen ( not in it much ) is one of the hottest women you’ll ever see.

@gt12 if true, that's an astonishing sum for someone with so little talent.
He’s a comedic genius compared to Adam Sandler

I love these things on FB……
The makers of Face/Off really did make sure we left our brains at the door and this guy actually misses a few movie sins….
I think it was as long as it was cos half of it was in fucken slow motion ( seriously John Woo, so gratuitous and wanky ), the whole premise is just SUCH absolute bullshit, Cage hams it up in his usual annoying way, Travolta is pretty annoying too ( as he is often is in movies that aren’t Pulp Fiction or SNF )
How many times do they shoot at each other and miss ?
Does the movie not notice that they have completely different head shapes ?
…..yet it’s still a guilty pleasure that’s genuinely fun to watch every few years.

a 19 min video titled "everything wrong with face/off in 18mins or less"

Stop being pedantic and watch it

@MN5 oh i did!....great movie and great video...might have to go back and do a "the rock" "con air" "face/off" marathon
Yeah I mean, they’re entertaining, despite being UTTER bullshit and Cage being Cage……

Absurd movie but highly entertaining. What I found completely effed up was how many innocent people were massacred in the crossfire while John Travolta's character was trying to get his life back.

Yeah the kill count was ridiculous.
But how about Cage waking up ( completely unguarded as the vid states ), calling his goons ( in shock and without lips ) to persuade them to kidnap the doctor AND the only FBI agents who knew about this top secret absurd plan ? How the hell would they know where they were or indeed WHO they were ?
How the fuck did the actors keep straight faces ( pun possibly intended ) during this ?
Not to mention Cage is pretty trim and muscly, Travolta is pretty pudgy, the height difference…..cutting the hair WHILE THE FACE WAS EXPOSED ?!?!?! Seriously, I get hair stuck in my ears for a good day or two after a trip to the barbers, no way that wouldn’t infect an open face……..
I guess if the wife hadn’t had any for awhile her not noticing the difference in cock size might be excused.

Next classic film (if you consider the 1970s as "classic) is the Sting with Woodford and Newman. A very neat little film. With a guest performance from Pete Thornton, not to mention Quint...apparently adjusted for inflation it's the 20th highest grossing film of all time.
