RIP 2024

Efeso Collins, one time Auckland Mayoral candidate and Green MP (apparently) died suddenly at a public event. I was no fan of the man's politics, but he was pretty young and that is terribly sad

Fuck. Not even 50.

Steve Harley gone.
Most famous for Come up and see me, make me smile but I much preferred his earlier stuff like Judy Teen.
-
One of life's genuine characters and real good guy

Met Oram twice and have a book of economic articles he wrote.
A decent, caring guy with a very sharp intellect and latterly a real concern for the environment.
Sadly social media trolls are out in force with comments like should have happened sooner only could be better if it had happened on a protected cycleway.

RIP Vernor Vinge.

By absolute coincidence just started re watching CYE again, he was a huge part of it being as awkwardly hilarious as it was.
RIP.

To be honest I’d assumed he’d died years ago
Vaguely remember him at the end of his firs clad career looking like a figure from an old movie town pre war reel.
Gotta be NZs best leggie.

@Victor-Meldrew said in RIP 2024:
I thought he'd died a long time ago too. He had a brother who was an off-spinner didn't he?
Gren. He's still alive too at 90.
