Meads is top of my list of people I'd love to have a beer with but I wouldn't go to him for health or financial advice .

Good on stuff for following up the nonsense about the enchanted water, once again these people are just shysters.

The herald has followed it up today. Every time an article about vaccinations or woo medical treatments shows up the comments are filled with people Wingerising about big pharma or fuckwits who invent people who's herpes was cured by enchanted cabbage leaves . Here we have this guy saying he had a guy with a melanoma so big you could see his skull through it and his water cured it. You'd think science would be all over that wouldn't you?

@Tim Not sure this qualifies for this thread as despite being a clickbait sensationalist story it's actually the sort of stuff news outlet should be doing: exposing the cons and fraudsters.

I thought "Conspiracy" theories as below:

@booboo said in Your favourite conspiracy theories:

Wasn't sure where to put this ...

    • Conspiracy Theories
    • Sir Colin's Cancer
    • Good Reads
    • somewhere else ...
      But here it is
      ... stories and stuff...

Maybe we should have a Woo thread so we can point and laugh at the weirdos.

Seems both Stuff and the Herald have TKG in their sights. Good on them.

This nutter got fined $30000 in court costs for her cancer scam, when she was younger she claimed to have had extensive heart surgery and then posted photos of herself in a bikini. She laid low for a while after a few people asked where her scars were, open heart surgery tends to leave a mark after all.

These guys are charlatans feeding on the desperation of the gravely ill. I don't blame Colin and Coxy. It's the old Zinny fried egg thing

Yea I guess you try whatever you can...some changes can prolong your life in some people...I know of a couple of examples where 2-3 month left to live predictions went on 2 10 years and one had weeks to live went on for another 3 years.

I can totally understand their motivation for taking the snake oil, that makes what Cock Head is doing even worse. Taking advantage of desperate people.

@MN5 rules have since changed and you need to be qualified to offer financial advice and usually accompanied with a Reem of paperwork

@Paekakboyz sad for her kid, god knows sort of batshit stuff she's telling/feeding it. The heart stuff came out on some forum she went on trolling for sympathy, you're right she's in a weird online universe she's created for herself.

That's fucked. Timaru of all places? I expected to see the school name as Rudolf Steiner School or Waldorf School. But Grantlea Downs appears to be state run.

The usual woo merchants complain that there's "no cure for (all 100+ typs of) cancer". Then when a vaccine comes along that can help prevent some of them...

Winger and others have claimed Gardisal doesn't prevent cancer, which is true. It prevents hpv which can lead to various cancers .

It's not helped by these people
