I enjoyed True Blood, bit raunchy (dont think there was an episode in the 1st 2 series where there wasnt someone having sex) the 2nd series got a bit tiresome about episode 8, but still good series, havent seen anything of a 3rd series yet??<br />
<br />
Good to see you back Mainlander!
<br />
<br />
Been busy mate, thanks for the nomination.<br />
<br />
Heard the second series concentrated on the brother more. He sure is built, Good old Vinnie, all that life guarding at Summers bay must have payed off.<br />
<br />
Funny how they've got an Ozzie lad and Kiwi girl playing Southern Rebel brother and sister. <br />
<br />
The two year old series Unherotic is currently doing the rounds around here and everyone raves about it. It's brilliant, even the wife liked it and she hates capes. -
HBO greenlights 'Game of Thrones'Nine episodes plus the pilot have been ordered<br />

<br />
HBO has greenlighted highly anticipated fantasy series "Game of Thrones."<br />
<br />
The premium network has picked up the project for a first-season debut next spring. Nine episodes plus the pilot have been ordered. Production will begin in Belfast this June.<br />
<br />
The pickup comes on the heels of another HBO big ticket series order, for Terence Winter and Martin Scorsese's drama "Boardwalk Empire."<br />
<br />
From the moment "Thrones" was first announced in development, the series based on the George R.R. Martin novels has generated enormous, perhaps unprecedented, online interest for a series at such an early stage.<br />
<br />
The sprawling tale set in the mythical land of Westeros tells the story of the noble Stark family who become caught up in high court intrigue when patriarch Eddard (played by Sean Bean) becomes the king's new right-hand man. The four-and-counting books in the series would each be used as one season of the series.<br />
<br />
Unlike many fantasy novels, the "Thrones" series largely avoids relying on magical elements and instead goes for brutal realism -- think "Sopranos" with swords. Martin, a former TV writer ("Beauty and the Beast"), writes each chapter as a cliffhanger, which should lend itself well to series translation. David Benioff and Dan Weiss are the series creators.
-
Think Soprano's with swords <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> Sean Bean hmmm<br />

This has everything if they get it right but stand by to be hugely disappointed -
halfway through S2 of Breaking Bad and enjoying it, dark comedy, well written and acted. <br />
<br />
Think he son is a superb actor. <br />
<br />
Enjoying Flash Forward.<br />
<br />
<br />
maybe a lost spoiler*********************<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Over Lost already, the whole alternate world is peeing me off, not to mention the new people in this world (I dont recall Jack having a teen son) and then we have this whole new village of people...at least we are almost halfway through the last series! -

<br />
Not quite mate. There are 13 more eps to go... -
pretty sure it is only 16 episodes, and we are 5? in, so almost half way....
-
Lost season 6 has 16 episodes. But the first and last are 2 hour rather than 1 hour, so technically 18 episodes. My problem with Lost is I watched the show real time, and it's hard to remember events and small details that I saw six years ago. Which is key in Lost with all the subtle changes and details in flash sideways, backwards, forwards etc etc etc.<br />
<br />
Pacific starts this Sunday on HBO. Can't wait.<br />
Breaking Bad season 3 starts next Sunday. Looking forward to it too.<br />
<br />
Anybody been watching Spartacus, Blood and Sand? A few friends have been talking about it, but I have not been watching. -
I see, I recall them saying prior to the 3rd last series, they said without damaging the integrity of the show they had to finish it...and 3 series of 16 episodes...still stretching it out further.<br />
<br />
What has happened to Heroes? Think it was S3 that finished here a year or more ago, yet I've not seen any ad's for the new one (not that it is a biggie as that seemed to be going downhill) -

Apparently popularity has dropped right off and its up for cancellation. -
I like Chuck. Most others don't and I accept that, but I like it. That out the way anyone know if they are going to bother showing the 3rd season on TVNZ?
<br />
I like Chuck - and I really can't understand why people don't like it. It's a funny show. The 3rd season is all good (about 7 eps in) but I don't know if they're going to show it on TVNZ. -
10th episode of a planed 19 total of Chuck will air this Monday in the US. Season 3 has had it's ups and downs, IMO. Episodes 7 and 8 in particular where sub par. The last episode (S03E09 : Chuck versus the Beard) was bloody awesome though. It may have changed the landscape of future episodes.
Chuck gets cut slack by me for having one of the Firefly cast on it. I've turned into one of those sad sacks that are desperate for a Serenity sequel.
<br />
<br />
Everytime you get that way just remember the Ren-fair aesthetic of most of the series. Barn dances Kirwan, barn dances.<br />
<br />
You must watch Castle then?<br />
<br />
BTW, only seen a few minutes of Chuck, but Chevy Chase turning up as a bad guy was pretty sweet. -

Space cowboys, mofo, space cowboys. Plugs directly into the Han Solo part of my childhood.<br />
<br />
This is all I've seen of Castle;<br />
<br />

I watched the pilot of Castle, seemed interesting. I'm a big fan of Chuck, and assume it will return to TVNZ when something else finishes. Also a huge fan of Firefly/Serenity - I had it sent to me on VCD from the USA and then bought the DVD set as soon as it was available on Amazon (but all downloading is bad, even when it leads to you buying something).

spoiler for lost<br />
<br />
The temple will get blown up in the next episode we will see here in NZ. The alternate universe is boring at the moment but like I said earlier I think the two realities will merge towards the end and it will become more important and more interesting. -
Apparently Syfy are in talks with Ron D Moore for a second spinoff series set in the Galactica universe. Good times.<br />

<br />
Caprica is slowly growing on me. It was a slow start but now, that virtual universe of theirs (and the people stuck in it) is getting very interesting. -
This new series on FX sounds good:<br />
