Does anyone with knowledge of the good book know if it says anywhere that you can't kneel for any other reason than worshipping? I haven't heard it before. And I'm pretty sure a shit load of those NFL players would be Christian
You shall not make for yourselves idols, nor shall you set up for yourselves an image or a sacred pillar, nor shall you place a figured stone in your land to bow down to it; for I am the Lord your God.

Could someone with more patience and fortitude than me scan through pre match team pictures to see if Folau knelt in any of them? 😁

Your compliments require work
Folau is an attention seeking twat. I doubt anything he does is without thought to draw attention to himself and his righteous outdated beliefs (( unless you lived during the Bronze Age, then it would be relevant)
Imagine if you would a media that ignored a footballer halfway around the world standing still before kick off. How less angry would you be?

That doesn't appear to cover kneeling in protest, only kneeling to a "figured stone"?

Quick search suggests there's a bunch of verses; https://bible.knowing-jesus.com/topics/Kneeling. For those of you aspiring to be biblical scholars, take your pick and get back to us if you could?

@voodoo said in The Folau Factor:
@Bones no doubt. But withough anything explicit, the evidence appears to leads us back to Folau being an attention seeking twat
Whilst this is possible, probable even it does seem to me that he’s getting grief for not making an attention seeking political statement. Or Does he get the grief just because he was the only one not to go down the virtue signalling route?

Fitzsimmons' point appears to be that while Foolu is perfectly entitled to make his own choices, if those decisions aren't in line with his view, it takes his breath away..
Poor little flower.

Not sure why anybody would have to explain not kneeling. On whose authority does one need to provide a reason?
When did a violent, openly marxist, activist group dictate what individuals should do at any given time?
More shocked at how many people have adopted this incoherent form of servitude.
( oh and shhhhh but there's a particular race of people in the USA well known for homophobia in the hood, but I'm not telling, you won't believe it anyway🤫)

Attention seeking Folau, who throughout his sporting career participated in about 10% of the interviews, tv appearances and ads that DC or McCaw did, and had a far bigger audience. Played pro league AFL and union - yeah, played up like Warney and Ali Williams the whole time! Exactly the same.
It's such an easy smear.
-
@Siam I said in my initial post that he doesn't have to provide a reason. But that if he had, I'd be keen to know what it was. Turns out it's not any of the things you mention, it's a false claim around religion (happy to be corrected on this still if someone can point some evidence)
I do think he is a dick and is seeking attention. That's a personal opinion based on stories from inside the Tahs camp, from public actions that I observed as deliberately provocative, unnecessary and damaging.
To me, the fact that Warney and Ali Williams were also dicks doesn't make Folau any less of a dick.
All my opinion at the end of the day, I'm sure plenty of folk think he is wonderful.

I wonder if I need to do some inner soul seeking here for myself. As I was extremely critical on him for his religious based twaddle, but I support him in not taking a knee.
Am I consistent or is Fitz?

That's not how it works. You're the one asserting, so the onus is on you to provide proof.
He's clearly a genius and a lazy one at that. All this attention (for an undisclosed purpose) by simply standing. Someone should give him a PhD in marketing.

I need to provide the proof that it says somewhere in the bible that he is never allowed to kneel in protest of something?
Fuck, that's going to take me a while man.
Do I have to read the old book as well as the sequel?

@voodoo said in The Folau Factor:
Has he explained why he didn't? Not that he has to, I'm just curious.
His club, Catalan Dragons, were asked why Folau didn't knell. Was it deliberate? The curt answer was "personal preference."
Unsurprisingly they are not letting Folau do his own media or interviews.

Criticising someone's opinion or actions is one thing. Fitz is criticising Foolu for having an opinion contrary to his own.
