GOT - there will be spoilers
-
I want to be excited, but ever since the series out ran the books, it's got so normal. Yay, great big set pieces, but no shocks, suspense, real twists, character development, or even actual drama. It's back to Hollywood style, and fuck your TV teleporting travel system.
George, you fat fluffybunny, stop watching baseball and fucking around with prequels, and write the rest of the series before you pop your clogs like Jordan

Spoiler alert for who will win the 'game of thrones'
-
@Machpants yean 'an' end is what it will be, possibly not Grrrrrrs ending, but there will be...and possibly determined by which ending gets leaked...
-

I'm still hyped, even tho 6 was average (church burning aside, loved that, and the music) and 7 a train wreck. Maybe just to finally see the (an?) end, having been hanging for 22 years...
6 average and 7 a train wreck?
Thought those 2 seasons were both an improvement on season 5.
7 did feel rushed at tiles but across those two seasons were some of the best episodes ever. -
@Machpants am sure there has been plenty of 'book' just not at the publishers yet! haha

I try not to mention 5... Basically since they've 'run out of book' it went down hill and towards holywood
Yeah the far caarnt is seriously taking the piss now. 8 years since the last book. That's really shit.
In terms of the series, there are still some very entertaining moments and it'll be good to know how it all finishes, but it has gone to shit without the books. Still pisses me off what they did to the Black Fish. I suspect they also mangled Stannis as well.

the last book suuuucked anyway, so i am not even sure i care any more. If the TV show can wrap the story up nicely, then i reckon i will be happy.
Predictions? Who wins?
There's obviously low-hanging fruit, like Hound v Mountain, and Jamie stabbing his sister with something other than his cock. But who wins the throne?
-
I reckon:
-Dani will get killed, possibly Arya (clearing her out then disappearing and being free/no-one) or John (powering up his sword)
-Sansa get's the throne by taking all her learning from Littlefinger
-John ends up in someway with the walkers (some sort of deal, same that was originally done with that wall and sacrifices)
-Really not sure if Clegane bowl will happen
-Jaime will die fighting for life, and with his sister-lover, Cersei will be killed by the Valonquar's 'pale white hands' either Jaime or the suicide boy king (name escapes me) as wights
-Not really sure what will happen to the dragons
-Or my fave character, at least until he turned dumb last few seasons, Tyrion. Maybe he will re marry Sansa and be crown prince! -
What I'm wondering about is the potential for reviving dead characters. Obviously you have the clash between ice and fire. This ice king dude can bring people back to life to form his army. The red witch brought John back to life and Thoros did the same for Beric. Why then can't these red priests and priestesses do the same en mass? Two massive armies of the undead?
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel although Jon Snow being bought back to life is more 'normal' than the White Walkers army, so not really both undead armies.
I think Sansa will figure in the end, as will Tyrion, I'd rather Cersei is exiled or stripped again of everythign, but this time, no way back into power, have to eek out her life selling herself.
Jamie deserves a good ending, but I dont think he will get it, just so long as his death is heroic, I think he would be happy.

They're still dead people who have been reanimated. I'm not sure why they don't try to do this more. If she can bring back John then why not the guys who were butchered in previous battles? Rickon? It's not exactly a power you don't give a second thought to when you're seriously short of manpower.
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel maybe there is more to it?
But what I mean is the army of the dead are more zombie like than just a normal dude that has been resurrected.

Clearly the reanimated ice people are just zombies while the fire people stay pretty much the same. Maybe there's a good vs bad thing there? The question is whether they can be revived in the same way en mass. There's no reason why not unless the Red God is highly selective.

@Rancid-Schnitzel you should email George and ask him, then let me know

While I'm going to watch every episode of this I'm not in the least bit hyped about it which is kind of strange, although I think it's quality dropped after the first 2 to 3 seasons.
Maybe reading this thread every day will hype me up appropriately before the start of the show.
