@voodoo yeah this was my immediate thought also.
Imagine a premium hotel like the Park Hyatt on Sydney Harbour ferrying in rich passengers direct to/from the airport and the rooftop of the hotel?
Add it on to corporate events like heading to the Lions test at Homebush?
For personal use, rich folk getting away to their weekend bach, skipping Friday traffic
I can think of loads of use case, especially at that super-low price point.
Where I think they'll struggle is approvals and red tape. Cos Straya.

@Bones you don't, I'm just talking about the flying thingamajiggee.
The truck looks to be the charging station, though I'm guessing you also need to charge that too...but no reason why you wouldn't just use fixed
grid-connected charging points most of the time.Guess the truck is good if you want to take your flyer to your weekender. And storage at home?

For the record, I'd never get in one of these things. I fucken hate helicopters, and this seems a much less stable version of one of those.
Plus I still remember when cousin Chloe threw a water balloon at Uncle Dean's brand new drone on Xmas day a few years back and it fell out of the sky like a sack of shit.
-
@voodoo oh....I thought there was already flying thingamajigees without the added truck expense? Because if you're rich enough to fuck around buying that sorta thing, you might not be able to stretch to the truck if you're getting your tennis courts resurfaced.

I did question the legitimacy and mention the stupid thread! It also mentioned the fake underneath. Thought it was pretty cleverly done though. No wash on the water, but the shadow was quite good as was the rest of it. Used to "fall" off the end of strips all the time bought back a few real nightmare moments.

On the opposite end of a flight, on my F3 course, we had a USN exchange pilot. So quite used to landing on short runways. When he landed short of the 2750m runway, and the wheels hit the lip, he didn't half get shit. On a carrier it would have taken the undercarriage off, with nothing before that. Thankfully the undershoot was tarmac, it just put a massive G bump on the aircraft - and wrote off both engines

Back in the 1930's someone talked to old Maori and put together a map of Auckland with its original place names and geography

How cool are old maps?

@voodoo a while back I was working for the council and some of the old maps and records they have were awesome.
One in particular that always stuck with me was a map of a peice of land along with a detailed list of what was 'paid' for the sale of the land (tobacco, gun powder, blankets etc) only for the land to be claimed back a couple of decades later, and then sold again for more tobacco, gun pwder etc
