@Canes4life Yeah that looks likely, do you really think Delaney over flanders? Jesus that backline is green isnt it which is scary, Roigard and Proctor are essentially our veteran backs which sounds crazy to me

Hope Jacob Devery finally stays healthy for a season.

Yeah I do, Delany plays a tighter game than Flanders and is a better lineout forward. You could go either way though. They might even start with Delany and Walker-Leawere as the locks and have Gallagher on the bench which will open that 6 jersey up for Flanders.

Yeah, Love is a big loss for us at 15 so I'm hoping Godfrey steps up there. There is plenty of ability there, it's not as green as you think though, the likes of Godfrey, Banks and Higgins have all been in the Super environment for three years now so it's their time to shine at this level. We also have a decent pack so we should get plenty of front foot ball to play with.

It will be interesting who they select as captain this year. I would personally go with Brayden Iose, he's got a good head on his shoulders and seems like a popular character within the group. My other option would be Billy Proctor.

Many players will need to lift this year after losing Barrett, Perenara and Savea.

I got excited for a moment, as I have a Rebel Sport gift card

But I'd probably have to put on 100 kegs to fit 4XL!

Quinn, Walker, Warren. All legends of commentary in their respective sports, all known to say shit lots. There are others

Must admit I only know Quinn , but then I don't really take a hell of a lot notice of names of commentators.

    Murray Walker? Ray Warren?

Still in dark mate, I thought Ray Warren was a league commentator , and as I don't watch it , guess that would explain it.

They're quite big too. I normally fit a large. Got one and I'll need to have it taken up. Almost looks like a dress on me

They fit long but not wide, pretty annoying.

So funny aye, the irony that we no longer have a 12 that can easily get us over the gainline. Ngani had his flaws but smashing into defensive lines wasn't an issue.

Yeah but he can’t cover full back and first five like Havili can

he was pretty much a one trick pony, didnt really perform as hoped in his limited shots in black.

It was pretty clear around his time we needed someone like him at that level, but they werent interested in Laumape and they often tried to use Goodhue as you'd expect to use Laumape.

I'd still prefer a Laumape to a Havili. Atleast he provides a point of difference and he had plenty of potential to grow.

He's playing well in Japan at the moment, was at 13 for their last game I think.

    I'll bite on the question.

I can't see why a 33 year old would give up the money and lifestyle in Japan for Super rugby, and not really sure why the Canes would want him when they have plenty of midfielders even without Jordie.

We definitely don’t need him anymore. We’ve got Higgins, Umaga-Jensen and even Proctor that can play 12 with Jordie returning next year. But I felt he was dealt a rough card by NZ Rugby which is why he left, could have ended up being an asset long term but it’s all speculative.

Was there some off field drama or did I imagine that ?

Or am I thinking Moala who was another midfield beast that deserved more chances

Nah he did a post match interview in the game where he ran over Beauden Barrett and a couple others saying how the media were disrespecting his name etc. Then NZ Rugby offered him a new contract which was a decrease to his previous one apparently which is why he left.

Never sure about Laumape, remember game and interview where he said he was being disrespected, and came across as a little petulant, because everyone wasn't falling over him? He needed to repeat that performance before making comment I thought. I liked him at 12, but as I said never really convinced me he was real top drawer!
