    Embarrassing loss for Canes

How so? Look at that Canes team which ended the game? Enari and Hohepa at 9 & 10, I wouldn't even want that for my NPC side.

Banks going off probably fucked it for us. We should have left Godfrey at 10. Hohepa can do one. Useless fuck.

Not really when you consider how many players are out. Canes will get a shit tone stronger as the season goes on.

Finished the game with the 5th choice 10 on.

Cameron, Cashmore, Harkin, had to move Godfrey to 15…. Hoepa is not really super standard.

    Both midfielders out

    All the 15s injured.

All black prop and hooker injured.

And Enari is in the 23 ahead of Viljoen why exactly?

Hohepa shown up horribly for pace by Tele’a for that try. Blues will be stoked with the W.

Just looking at the stats, they dominated.

@antipodean 5 tries to 2, the Blues individual player quality was too good. That says more about the Blues tactics IMO.

Canes need to win their next two games heading into the bye. After the bye we’ll get about 5 or 6 players back.

@Canes4life Even if they can win one, they will be doing okay considering the injuries. Lose both though, and it probably leaves them needing to win 6-7 out of 9 just to make the six, which will be very tough, because a lot of those guys won't be match fit.

Feel for the Canes really... that injury list is silly.

On the useless fuck side, UJ put some work in this game, comparable to normal

Barrett is far from perfect these days, but I do agree that the Blues improved when he went to 10. I just wonder if some of the Blues players lack the motivation they have in recent years? Blues fans correct me, but I feel they could benefit from injecting some players with something to prove?

I feel if the Blues started Nock instead of Christie, they'd have won comfortably. They're trying to play more expansively than last year with a scrumhalf actively sabotaging them.

Moana is a must win, Highlanders will be tough under the rough especially the form they are in.

I agree with this. I thought it was noticeable guys like C Christie adding some energy.

There's a few big names who look to be going through the motions

@Machpants should be an easy one to review. Nock won’t have been in too many tackle situations

I feel for Godfrey, we win that and he’s who everyone would be talking about atm. Fantastic performance and can’t wait to see what he does when we get a few boys back.

@KiwiMurph I'm sure it would be hard for Riccitelli, Sotutu and Plummer to play with the same vigour with the knowledge they are heading offshore. Beehre gave away a few penalties but was busy.

Trouble is, I don't know who the Blues leave out? Definitely think I'd inject an actual fullback at 15 be it Forbes, or Sullivan (when he is fit again). Taele could be worth a go in the midfield too.

Hard to be motivated in your job when you know no matter how good you are, promotion isn't available.
