Too early to say the Crusaders will be in the final this year?

The Chiefs, the Reds and the Crusaders all look like they are heading for the playoffs and home advantage.

It's going to be a big scramble for the other three playoff places.

Yeh, nah. Limp performance by an injury-ravaged Blues team. As a Crusaders fan, really wish they would pull their heads in sometimes. Too much screaming and too many head rubs. Almost changed sides today.
The silence on Grace on here tells me he is playing really well. Lio-Willie as well.

I have enjoyed JOCs impact from the bench so far this season... some real touches of class

    Agreed

Steadies the ship and has much better vision than his younger self

Too old in the tooth for an Aussie recall?

@Old-Samurai-Jack our loosies all did a really good job tonight.

Never been a fan of the head rubbing after a mistake or penalty, needs a bit of self regulation and the ref to close his eyes….

Only thing I’ll say is that winning at EP is a big deal for some of these players who don’t get to play at the hallowed ground often.

he might be a useful bench option for them, not sure experienced depth is that great over there.

@Bones that Springer strike rate. 😉

Today's one was pretty tough, not sure even @MiketheSnow could have scored that one.

Reiko’s ball security must be an issue for the ABs

I've been a fan for years.

But based on his recent performances, unless there is a dramatic improvement in his standards, he shouldn't be anywhere near an AB squad.

Is he even the best centre in the Blues squad?

Clarke and Ioane need to swap positions.

More MSM style opinion, reds are shithot favourites after beating a depleted, shithouse highlanders. Canes fans eh...

So disappointed I didn’t even bother watching the late game
It’s fair to say any confidence the Blues had about climbing out of this slump has well and truly gone out the window
I’m really not sure how you come up with an idea of making player who’s form has been underwhelming at best relates to being your captain
Even Dalton who has skippered the team before may been a better option
Once the confidence is sucked out of the cylinder like the Crusaders found out last year it’s very difficult to rebottle

I will give Christie ,Renata,Gordon and Plummer their dues at least they offered some energy off the bench

I have always thought Sam Nock has a decent enough skill set to succeed but unfortunately he just does’nt have the ability to own the space around him and take ownership of it
Not sure why the Blues bothered bringing Angus Ta’avao back to Auckland personally they would have been better off looking somewhere else
I find him one of those players that flatters to deceive
That’s a couple of senior players and possibly a few more that did’nt take ownership when it mattered wether it be changing the lineout tactics or taking ownership of the kick off receives
I said after game one Vern Cotter needed to find some new tricks I think we can possibly say there are some players that should be let go

Yeah the front row stocks are starting to concern me a bit in our region. A lot of aging front rowers and I haven't seen a lot to suggest that there are many coming through. Like, Ta'avao is well past his best, and Renata and Tu'ungafasi aren't getting younger, but who else do we have coming through?

It's just one of those seasons where we have to put in the bin and build for then next (weve had plenty of them as Blues fans so its nothing new). Thankfully we came out of the 2020-2024 period with a couple of bits of silverware.

@Bones Sevu Reece was whooping at every penalty against the Blues like an inebriated drongo. Horrific noises. He needs to be told to pull it in.

I think that has been Blues problems all year. Everyone was saying that Christie and BB were shit etc, and they weren't very good, and I pleased we seeing where problem seems to be .Forwards aren't only problem either, and I not sure thay soft as, more look disconnected to me. Watch how often they getting ball turned over, and most of it looks to me like the cleaners are just a step ot 2 behind where they should be.
Bluesd also have a problem at 10, neither Plummer or Perofeta have looked to adapt game plan, and much as I know this is not popular, I think Blues best 80 minutes have been the 2 40 minutes when BB has been running the cutter. Although I think Perofeta probably just needs gametime?

I am not sure a centre that trips over himself will be all that effective.
