Replace him with Dempsey for the game in RSA - we're not going to out-beast the Boks, so better we just out-fluffybunny them. A backrow of Dempsey, Hooper, and McMahon is about as fucking annoying a thing I could think of from a Wallaby opponent pov.

Speight continues to be the shittiest top-line winger we have for defensive positioning. Ponies fans can talk about his attack all they want, but he gets caught shooting inward too often for Test rugby.

Rodda is looking the goods. His combination in the second row was a big contributor to our late-game scrum dominance, along with the Pumas replacements being ordinary. More on that in a minute. The other thing about Rodda is that he gets stuck into the work a good donkey should: cleaning out, putting pricks on the deck, and not doing anything too ambitious for a second rower's limited brain power.

Uelese has been solid in both his appearances. Temperament looks good, and he's got that young, puissant man's complete lack of fear. Snaffled an important turnover when we were farting around early in the second half, and ran hard all day. How much must he love having TPN as a mentor in camp?

Creevy must have gotten sick of the sight of Coleman belting six shades of shit out of him. it seemed like, every time he got the ball, Coleman was there to hit him. Magic.

McMahon and Hooper are so deadly together, and just need a better 6 (Dempsey, as I said, so you know its the truth) to help balance that back row so the tight five can do what they need to do.

The backline was a bit quiet IMHO, with the odd flash of brilliance but not enough consistency. Hard to overshadow that back row performance.

Ah, yes.
I watched Los Pumas against both the ABs and us. The tenacity they showed; the understanding of their own limitations and how they need to play. And their starters seem to really buy into this.
What struck me is how underdone their bench is. Performance really drops off when they bring guys off the pine.
It shows, perhaps, that having a single Super team to pick from won't ever help their depth. In fact, their desire to pick only Super Rugby guys probably holds them back.
That is, unless they get more starters in other Super teams
e.g. Cubelli's stint at the ponies.But with the competition contracting by a few teams, I think they need to open up their scope a little and maybe allow a few more guys to go back to France or the UK.

nick, it's all your wingers, not just speight - though he may be the worst.
the coaching has to be to blame. (grey yeah?) they just make so many bad decisions out wide on who to commit to and when to trust the inside man.
this is stuff that often costs tries too - easy way to tighten up a few points there. -

Hodge is a bit of a puzzle. Capable of playing pretty much anywhere from 12 out, and has that big boot to clear the zone and kick long range goals.
Actually I'd like to see him have a pop at the Boks from inside our half, given its up on the veldt (Bloem) -

Yes, but that scrum was under the Argies posts and the Wallabies scored a try from it. From 10-13, the score passed to 17-13 and then it was a different game. Hanigan's knock-on was evident and the touch judge should have called Lacey that he had made a huge error. It was the turning point of the game IMO.

They were out on their feet the last 25 minutes and we had our way with them. Their scrum was imploding, ours was getting dominant, and our breakdown accuracy was much better in the second half.
They barely fired a shot except for one individual try.

absolutely - i recall hearing one of the comms giving some ridiculous scoreline stat about how bad the argies had been in the last 20 mins of all of their games - wish i could remember it. it's a real problem for them at the moment - especially with the props they have out.

@nta fucken oath. they must be hard work to play for, coach or support - as someone who doesn't even care whether they win or lose they frustrate the shit out of me. so much almost really good stuff which they fuck up, and so much crumbling after looking shit-hot.
