Yeah definitely worth it, I crapped out on one of the workouts, rested then nailed it a couple of days later.

    Week 3, Day 2 sets were 20, 25, 15, 15, 25.
[/quote]

Repeated this workout with the prescribed 90s rest between sets, EXCEPT the last one where I had to extend to three minutes. Got through the last set with a couple of rests and had to do the very last two on knees despite two attempts.

So tomorrow I venture back onto the rugby field for the first time since I lost all the weight. Haven't played contact of any sort in about 14 months, and my first training session with the team will be tomorrow morning.

So, combining all these factors, I expect to be absolutely useless tomorrow and will be praying for scrums...

Lost all our games but jeez I had fun. Has lit my fire for rugby again I must say.

Depending on how I pull up I might go for ride tomorrow.

Footnote: MvJ was ref for as few of the games. He has lost a lot of weight, even for his already narrow arse.

15km ride this morning just to blow out the lactic acid. Neck and shoulders quite stiff and I've got a nice collection of bruises.

Time for recovery food...

Edit: think I'll skip hundred push ups today. I'm somewhat knackered...

    Hundred pushups Week 3 Day 3: 22, 30, 20, 20, 28. Using prescribed breaks of 120s.

Set 1 ok.
Set 2 had to do last rep on knees
Set 3 had to do last 5 on knees
Set 4 had to do last 5 on knees
Set 5 had to do last 18 on knees

Triceps were shot by set 5 and then the strain all moved to the chest. Still feeling quite fatigued from rugby Saturday so I'll redo this day on Wednesday.

edit: finished with abs tonight. 10 x myotatic crunch and 10 x cat vomit. Then some relaxation stretches and breathing.

On a short holiday to central NSW (Dubbo Zoo - cyclopath is around here somewhere) and a fair bit of ordinary diet and drinking going on here... still managed to get 5 km of run in this morning in 26:27 which was a good time considering I haven't run in a while. Good to sweat out the half dozen rums I had last night.

Walked a few km around the zoo today and got to see some rad animals. The zoo here is great - wide open spaces for them to get around in rather than the concrete pens of some city zoo zoos. Highly recommended.

Rather spoiled all the exercise with as make side of Hog's Breath this evening. But fuck that noise; I'm on holiday.

Jeez I'm gonna regret this short holiday. Home tomorrow and I'll be surprised if I'm not a few kegs in the red...

    Set 1: 22 ok.
Set 2: 20 ok, 10 on knees.
Set 3: 20 ok.

Man that hurt. A bit of alcohol and bad food, combined with no decent exercise during this short break, have really knocked me around.

Got on the scales this afternoon after walking back from the car hire place (5.36km in 48:53) and was pleasantly surprised to be 97.7kg. Guess all that walking around the zoo and setting up/packing down tents was good enough to trim the beef.

Bit surprising, given the diet and exercise plan isn't great when you take a few days off, but I'll take it.

Repeat with a headache brought on by the medication for my cold sore (first time I've had side effects on Famvir).

Sets 1-3 ok.
Set 4: 12 ok, 8 on knees.
Set 5: 12 ok, 16 on knees.

Not getting any easier based on results, but I feel stronger and the chest feels firmer. Think I need to get this Week 3, Day 3 routine down before I proceed to Week 4 where I failed last time.
Walked to work today: 7.68km in 1:11:02 (6.49km/h). Refreshing but occasionally annoying with the day pack on.

Repeat of Week 3, Day 3.

Sets 1-4 ok.
Set 5: 24 ok (with a couple of rests at top and bottom), 4 on knees.

Man that actually felt pretty good. Left wrist and tricep let me down badly toward the end.

Finished with usual abs.

Rode into work today: 7.72km in 20:28
Ride home from work: 10.31km in 24:37

Might go for a run in the morning - the weather is warming up here so morning runs are back on the agenda. 30 degrees the last couple of days which keeps the streets pretty warm overnight.

5km in 27:16 this morning. Was warmer than I expected and I'll be looking forward to DST kicking in on Sunday so the 6am starts actually mean something.

In other news, stepped on the scales after my shower and it read 95.8kg - that is 20kg lost since August 2011, when I started recording all this stuff. About 415 days I guess, at 48 gm per day on average.

Take it easy on the eating today and tomorrow's weigh in should be most satisfying.
