Oh good, if it was Te Rure then that should ensure JGB goes nowhere pulling on a Hurricanes jersey ant any level.

@stargazer Higgins asked who back up poo 10 was, it was Te Rure wasn't it?

This ref hasn't had much support from his team.

Ah, sorry, I thought you meant the back-up for the Canes dev team from the Bay or the poo.

Yes, Te Rure replaced Black when he got injured.

@taniwharugby Jade Te Rure wasn't in the Canes Dev team last year due to injury, but should be someone to look at this year for the development team. The Magpies 3rd option at first-five was a 29 year old from their development team.

Wasn't Te Rure still playing up in Scotland last northern season thus he would not have been available for Super Rugby Development Team's games.

@higgins No, I think they had already released him from his contract; he has been injured most of the time while he was in Scotland (not sure though).

Regardless, I still rate him as a decent player, and certainly ahead of JGB who really, as a first five, only has his goalkicking as a strength at this stage. I have however seen JGB go well at centre a couple of times in club rugby.

@higgins I rate Te Rure, he played better than Black did before he got injured. I wish the Canes had signed him instead of JGB.

@stargazer I'd love NOrthland to pursue him as we need a 10, but apparently he is with Manawatu next year too.

@bones nah somebody in their wisdom suggested JGB was All Black material based on his season with Wellington. May have been one of the more fanatical Wellington posters...

Thanks for posting this link Stargazer. Brad Weber looks to be a natural and completely at ease with the microphone in his hand.

I guess his interview with Stevenson explains why he was a late call up - they were figuring out his whakapapa.

Weber did some pre-match and half-time interviews at Chiefs home games so he has some experience. And halfbacks like to talk...

As to the game, the Maori forwards were dominated around the park and the French tackled everything. JGB was really poor but West wasn't much better.
