Busted out a few of these at the folks place ( they have really wide staircase railings which are probably a good foot or so away from me on either side ) over the last few days and they definitely feel like they work the chest more than the triceps. Has anyone done these and had real pain in the shoulders the next day ? ( Bad, not "good" pain ? )
a bit concerning but I'm getting better at em which I hope will aid the strength in other pushing type exercises.

can't say they sound good, but if you take it slow and let yourself recover fully then you'll give yourself a better chance on them. I hardly ever do chest at the moment but can still benchpress 5 reps on 90kg due to doing dips (at 85kg, I can do 20 or more). I wouldn't want to mess with my shoulders by doing wide like you are.

I used to love doing weighted dips but am ultra cautious about attempting them now. My shoulders aren't what they used to be!!!

    Narrow dips = triceps
Wide dips = chest

But you shouldn't really go too much wider than a hand span outside your shoulders. Think about your bench press grip width
Weighted dips. Just something about them.
Most annoying thing is time between sets as ya gotta stand there with 20kg of extra weights hanging between ya legs. Usually try find a near by bit of equipment to rest em on.
heh, MN5 is doing weighted dips, with all that excess fat. I'm impressed he can even do 2 dips!
You, on the other hand would probably take flight on a slightly breezy day in the capital. Must be a bit of an advantage there I reckon.
Excuse the hassling above, I weigh 85kg and sometimes run/hike the hills with a runner friend who's 70-73kg and 10 yrs younger. Last time we went I was carrying the pack, as well. Further, in this country most fit men are 55-65kg. Where's that 'things that shit me thread!?!...

JK, no need to go on about all the weight between your legs. No one likes a show off.
