    Santner either gets smacked for 6 or doesn't concede anything.

    @MN5 a genuine all-rounder.

    Almost as much of one as Doug Bracewell.

    IMO Bracewell is a batting all-rounder that is yet to fulfill his potential.

    Ferners who's opinion on cricket I respect.....

    Do you think you will have more luck playing Monopoly against Chris Cains or Cluedo against David Bain

    Astle should never have been bowling at the death. And he or Munro needs to bowl one more over. I think needing to make up two overs at the death was a too much of a risk, Astle or Munro should have bowled one more over. Probably munro should have bowled a third rather than Boult coming back after Astle got Shoaib Malik.

    They're heading towards a really competitive total.

    In the 80s/90s.....

    @cyclops Yeah - there was probably a gamble that we would bowl them out, which hasn't come off.

    Ominous for them that their tail is scoring easily, but they have got an attack that can pressure us by taking wickets.

    The guy still in on 50 is one letter T away from having a really good insult as a name.

    Yeah I get the gamble and I like it but bowling Astle at the death in the power play was only going to go one way. Kane either needed to squeeze in one more over earlier or hold his nerve longer so munro bowled 47/49 or 48/50

    Pakistan with slightly more backbone than the Windies, dreadful start to their innings but they've managed to put some runs on the board for their bowlers to set up an interesting chase.

    If Munro gets going again it won't be competitive for long, but early wickets and she's all on.

    While reminding myself this is the Black Caps we're talking about and trying to keep it real I truly believe we should chase this down without too much trouble.

    The great benefit of having Little Kane in the team is that you don't really have a twinge of anxiety until he gets out.

    @mn5

    Complete with no pinch hitting in the opening 10 overs and the bowlers having a slog at the death.

    Still about 60-70 more than we should have let them get though. Good rally from the Pakistan lower order though.

    True but that's almost taking away from the other quality players we have in the team.

    @Cyclops only keeping an eye on the game via cricinfo but sounds like the lower order really did a job. More than the Windies managed.

    Not a great review, they're happy to have a gamble with it rather than save it for the howlers.

    Possibly tactical/respect for Kane too.
