The Struggle Continues......
-
Mentioning Bill Cavubati yet again ( gee he gets good traction on this forum ) but I remember back in the 90's thinking how much better he was than Loe and Brown simply cos he ran with the ball so much more. The reason he was in a position to do so was cos he'd missed the last ten phases of play.....I've learnt so much since then....<br />
<br />
Although ask M4L he'll still say I don't know shit.....<br />
<br />
Guys like Bull Allen, Nick Poppelwell, David Sole, Tom Smith ( like how I've mentioned two Scotsmen in a row ), Sona Taumalolo etc seem to be those guys who were/are so good with ball in hand. Is that cos they're in the less arduous prop position ? Only tighthead like that I can think of is Kees Meeuws..... -

Carl Hoeft and Kees Meeuws were the opposite, but they did come in pairs...<br />

If you're dominating as a unit, it's less effort per man to be on the winning team. You have more energy left for the other stuff.<br />
<br />
For example, anyone who propped with BBBT in their second row had a high likelihood of being around the park a bit. Not a guarantee mind - you still have to hold up your end of things. -

by god you're needy...<br />
<br />
If you can get any frilly bits out of your tighthead, then its a bonus in my opinion.<br />
<br />
For JCU i have played at least 10 minutes in every position on the field bar 2, 3, and 10. Loosehead was when the game was forced to golden oldies scrums, and the high numbers seem like a lifetime ago. -

"East Waikato" or alternatively "Southern Thames Valley"<br />
<br />
Te Aroha is actually the provincial capital of southern Thames Valley. -

Hmmmmmmmm why did I think it was part of the Waikato ? that kind of talk might get me lynched up that way !<br />
[/quote]<br />
It is and it isn't. Right on the county line. We are Piako/Waikato for local government and services, Waikato zoned in the phone directory (lumped in with Matamata and Mortinsville) and Coromandel electorate for voting!!!<br />
<br />
All local sports clubs (from junior through to senior) either play in the Waikato or Valley! For example last year my son competed in both the Valley and Waikato regional athletics meets! He also played in the Waikato wide Yr 5/6 Cricket competition and the Valley 7th Grade rugby comp.<br />
<br />
Te Aroha really is in no mans land!!!<br />
<br />
Best of both worlds really.
