    run tonight, but ran the other way up the hill, where the trail is longer going up but not as steep...anyway, took another minute longer than last run at 48.35

    BUt gee I struggled to get into stride today, was about a km before my breathing settled, and boy she was a warm one too!

    no actual workout on weekend but went for a 4 hour hike of around 12km with TR Jnr on Saturday (thousands of stairs) I had the back pack with drinks, snacks and spare clothing, so was sweating buckets, and he barely looked like he got a sweat up, little punk!

    Yesterday fully intended doing a workout (enjoy running/workouts in the heat) but when a part on the ride on broke, I wanted to finish one patch with the push mower, then decided to do more, nek minut I decided to do the whole lawn...almost 4 hours later, again sweating buckets...decided I would just chill for the latter arvo and sink a couple of cold beers!

    had a run last week where I beat my PB by about 90sec, not sure why, didn't feel like I was pushing any harder.

    Worked out both Saturday/Sunday and then as TR Jnr Tae Kwon Do has finished for the year, didn't run last night so smashed a workout when I got home last night.

    I enjoy exercising in this warmer weather, really lets you know you been doing something!

    Rotator Cuff is up and down, right now, it is probably 90%, whereas yesterday sitting at work it was probably a 75%...in one of my work outs I did 110 pull ups with a resistance band assisting and it felt sweet.

    ended up hurting my back the day after New Year, is still about 90% but has restricted me doing a lot, but have gotten back into it the past 10 days, which included some pre-season fitness stuff I did with TR Jnr on Sunday, the boy still got some way to beat his old man ๐Ÿ™‚

    so after getting back sorted, I had an incident on Sunday...after having a few beers at the neighbours I was climbing back over the sty we have in between, carrying about a ยผ of a lemon meringue in a dish, and a chilly bin (mostly empty)โ€ฆas I went to step over the top wire, the front of my jandal hooked under the wire but my foot was over as was my momentumโ€ฆmeringue landed flat, held onto chilly bin, as I have tried to leap off my left so I didn't fall flat on my face, I have over stretched my right leg and tweaked my hammy as I landed on my right on the slight slope

    Went for a 4.5km run last night, hammy was a bit tight, but iced when I got home and seems better today than it was yesterday.

    @taniwharugby obviously not enough to drink bro, a few more jars and you would have snaked over that fence no sweat! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Nice skills to salvage the situation! Better than the meringue in your face and the eskie smacking your nuts!

    @paekakboyz ha, well, last weekend (03/02) had a stag in Omaha, and drank far too much, so much so that I injured myself (the old, one tequila, two tequila, three tequila floor...) had to helped down the stairs to the bedroom, only to find myself waking on a concrete floor outside the bedroom (although I only found out how I hurt myself at the wedding on Saturday, I thought it was just from sleeping on a concrete floor)

    This has hampered my exercise somewhat, although, oddly, I have lost 1.5kg since last weekend too, so go figure and now at my lightest in about 5 years!

    @paekakboyz tequila and floor...may have been some falling and unintentional splits involved (well as far as someone who has never been able to do the splits can do)

    easing back in and trying to up the workload in the past week, swimming and running.

    Have a 10km fun run on Sunday, but TR Jnr is running with me, and currently I am still fitter and faster, so will be a nice pace for us to run together ๐Ÿ™‚

    got an appointment to have my rotator cuff looked at, isnt stopping me from doing much, but aches more and get a sharp pain if I move quickly in the wrong angle.

    Hoping they might be able to do something without surgery, doingall the exercises I am supposed to, can still do pull ups (not too wide or chin ups) push ups etc

    Been doing some short sharp workouts, today was:
    1 min sprint (on treadmill, max speed) 1 min deadlifts (45kg) 1 min shoulder circles, 1 min mountain climbers, 1 min star (flat on stomach, head, arms and legs all held off the ground) 1 min burpees and do that 3 times.

    haha missed my 1st appointment as I had entered wrong date in my calendar, muppet!!

    Anywhoo, went along and saw Physio last week, interestingly before going I didn't think I had hardly any restriction of movement or loss of strength, but when Physio did his thing, I did have decent amount of strength loss on certain movements and while I didn't feel like I had movement issues, was only because my body was making adjustments and I wasn't noticing how uneven movements were.

    Good thing is he reckons it can be sorted without surgery, already noticed slight improvement in mobility (with putting arm behind back which is very restrictive)

    Glad I decided to get it looked at.

    I can see/feel the improvement in my movement after 3 visits, although some days the ache is more than other days, and then just as I am about to doze off I wake with a start and I move my shoulder suddenly...that aint fun.

    This time of year does suck, cooler, darker earlier, so not feeling the urge to go running at night (and having some coursework to complete doesn't help either)

    Have to be a bit careful at rugby trainings, some of these 60kg boys run hard when I am playing defence, and as I am not going hard out, is when I am likely to hurt myself (or them I guess) but I do go hard in the runs and stuff telling them they shouldn't be letting me beat them haha

    well my shoulder took a turn for the worse over the weekend, was doing some back stretches and have levered up with my right shoulder (as I have done all the time) but something didn't feel that good and was more pain.

    Last night was something else though, woke at about 1am in excruciating pain, spent 30 mins contemplating driving myself to hospital to get some good drugs...fortunately the ibruprofen I had kicked in and I watched Netflix for a bit until I fell asleep again.

    Got an appointment this morning for an MRI & X-ray... ๐Ÿ˜ž

    ugh, that is no good bro. Hopefully the scan shows something and they can sort it via physio or an op (ACC funded! or private if you've got insurance).

    Was the pain in the same place when you woke overnight? My gym bro had a similar experience a couple of weeks ago where his shoulder woke him up too. Personally I think you guys probably rub too many out, but I'm sure there could also be a genuine training injury too ๐Ÿ™‚

    Good luck getting it sorted!

    basically whole shoulder was in pain...previously I was able to lift shoulder over head, stretch back, now can barely lift above my hip without pain.

    Physio said possibly some calcification there, which may have been the initial issue, but says best to get MRI/X-ray to confirm.

    It is ACC but I have private insurance as well.

    Haha, it is my right hand too...

    so possible very minor tear but seems some calcification is the issue, possibly whatever I did on the weekend has managed to get the calcification outside the joint or something, so now when I move it, nothing moves smoothly and causes pain.

    Apparently a number of ways to deal with it...

    Im a physio if you want any second opinions. Shoulders are a complex beast. Calcification sounds like a bit of a BS diagnosis. This doesn't come out of nowhere. Calcification is a response to prolonged stress.
    Xray isn't going to show much. I would be more after Ultrasound and MRI given you have (judging by your posts) had a couple of DFO (drunk and fallen overs).

    Happy to give a second opinion im pretty awesome at shoulder rehab.
