TR vs the future

ran up the mountain today.<br />
<br />
Went up the shorter track (45 sec slower than my best time) and came down to my stair section.<br />

The last 15 or so steps are tough, steep and just slightly bigger than a normal stride, but not big enough to take 2 strides per step...had the quads on fire on the first rep!<br />
<br />
Before I started I thought I'd do 15, after 2 I knew I'd only be doing 10, after 8 I almost passed out and a bit of bial in my very, very dry throat...so I walked the next 1 and walked half and ran half of the last 1 to make sure I did 10...SERIOUSLY FARKED!!<br />
<br />
16.20 for the 'sprint' (aka fast jog)<br />
<br />
49.30 for the total run.<br />
<br />
<br />
Was gonna just do 10, but after the 10th, decided to go hard on another, but at least I ran all of them today; 44.37 total run.<br />
<br />
Those last lot of steps are a mission, but man it feels great after I finish!! <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /><br />
<br />
92.1kg this morning...slowly but surely edging toward 90kg! -
100 lizard crawls (on a slight incline)<br />
100 jumping lunges (suuuuuckkk, legs are gonna be sore tomorrow)<br />
250 mountain climbers (knees across body)<br />
<br />
rolling muscles on medicine ball -

<br />
Correct, glutes in particular farking sore...tried to roll them on the medicine ball, hurts too much <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> -
glutes still a bit sore today, so did some rolling on the medicine ball to loosen up (still hurts...) then walked up the mountain with a 5kg plate in each hand, and did 13 'sprints' this week (11 last week) obvously I put the weights down while doing my 'sprints'<br />
<br />
Pretty hard going coming down carrying the plates after the stair 'sprints' a little over an hour out there today. -
woohoo, 91.6kg this morning!!!! My biggest loss in ages, been hovering around 92.1-92.3 the last week or so.<br />
<br />
Have 36 holes of golf on Sat/Sun and am gonna use my carry bag instead of my trundler, so with the forecast I should burn plenty of cals this weekend too!! -
you were the only one contemplating it being over...I didnt expect you to give up though! <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /><br />
<br />
First time I been under 92kg this century though, which was what got me stoked! -
warm up on the punch bag.<br />
<br />
100 dips - really struggled tonight, first lot was 25, then at about 70 odd, I was only doing sets of 3, drop to ground and then re-gripping and 3 more...<br />
75 assisted pull up - again, struggled, felt my forearms really struggling, so decided not to do 100 after last time it took almost a week for the forearms to recover<br />
150 round the worlds with 5kg plate. -
No workout or run this weekend...<br />
<br />
Played 37 holes of golf in stinking heat, carried my 20kg +/- bag as well, I guess I musta covered about 13km+/- over the weekend too...? <br />
<br />
S<br /> -
warm up on the punch bag<br />
<br />
100 burpees (first 50 for Mn5's farked up challenge) 100 cleans, 100 skull crushers 90 plank (feet on swiss ball elbows on weight bench)<br />
<br />
reduced the weight a bit on the 2 weighted exercises and did more reps before dropping bar, regripping and resuming. -
signed up today to do the 11km Coastal Challenge next weekend; MIlford Beach round to Devonport, should be fun.<br />
<br />
Aside from a solitary 12km run last year, as far as I can recall, this will be the furtherest I have ever run by some distance...at School I think our Cross Countries were about 4-5km, and I have run a few 5-7km runs last year as well.<br />
<br />
DOing a 9km fun run 2 weeks later as well. -
5.5km run, with TR jnr on his bike...a couple of sections of steps I had to carry his bike (couple hundred metres) and on alot of the hills (probably a fraction over a km in total) push him up....34 mins, bloody hot.

<br />
I saw they have a 33km Teams Run - maybe next year you and others like Kirwan could give it a shot for thesilverfern... -
Yeah I am doing it with 3 other mates, 2 of whom have only just begun their fitness journey, they poo pood the 33km, although I had only suggested the 22km as I dont think I am ready for a 33km one yet!<br />
<br />
But I think the 11 is enough for now, but next year.... <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> -
11.77km run in 1:07:28 (did it in August in 1:11:23) too hot for this today though!
-
Looks good, normally I'd scoff-the first 5km are downhill! But getting a comp 11km run in is always great. Hope you cruise it. Again, normally I'd go 'pffft' about the heat, since I often hike in mid Summer high humidity sun directly overhead blah blah, but being serious, hope you and others are covering up on these runs-and slapping on the sun screen. Skin cancer is a killer.<br />
<br />
I'm also thinking of doing a hill run in March, if I can register for it. More later. -
yeah the sun here is pretty brutal, around 27deg today, yeah always slip-slop-slap...although on my track runs, it is probably >90% shaded, so rarely see the sun, but can get humid as hell in there.<br />
<br />
I must admit I was pretty farked today though (probably in part to the food I have eaten in the past 24 hours and I hadnt had enough of water before I ran) I did walk across the road a few times...I am looking forward to next week though, although I will be keenly aware of where the drink/toilet stations are...I did ensure I 'sprinted' (aka ran a wee bit faster) for the final 300m to make sure I could, given I dont wanna lose to my mates if I can help it <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/rugby/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
