@act-crusader that's why I said a lesser extent. He went through a cold patch after the international break and only showed signs of breaking out recently. He does like to take the big shot though. If I was choosing I'd keen DJ and try to upgrade on Sosa

Sosa got rattled by Casper. Casper is an NBA quality guard, but just lacks that extra bit of speed at his size that will get him a good look in. He’s the best guard in the NBL IMO.

    I’d offload Sosa too.

@act-crusader Sosa's no Cedric Jackson. That would be a battle, Cedric in his prime vs Ware

    I'd still take Randle

Maybe these new owners will have some contacts to bring former or NBA-quality players to the Breakers. For example, like Childress at the 36ers.

Do you know who they are? I was watching ESPN The Jump the other night, a big issue at the moment in the NBA is college "one and dones" and how to develop young talent that isn't NBA ready. Apparently the NBL have a new programme next season that will encourage the NBA to use it as a D league, attracting more NBA calibre players to Oz. I don't know how things work as far as how these players will be distributed

    @canefan

Shawn Marion was brought in late as one of the group. Another is a part owner at Swansea City (Romie Chaudhari).

The main guys are former NBA journeyman Matt Walsh, who will move to NZ, and Adam Goodman.

@bovidae Most important have they got money and are they willing to spend it? The outgoing owners have been amazing, I hope things get better not worse

In the article I saw on the TV news the Blackwells were really happy with their choice of the new owners as they shared their vision for the team.

I hope they're right. I'll reserve judgement for now

Late here, but the Blackwells seem the sort of owners you'd want for your sports team. Decent, good judgement and happy to sit in the background.

Wonder if they like rugby... could hop over the bridge and take care of the Blues for a bit 😛

Casper has better 3pt range but Randle’s midrange game is the best in the NBL. Both are good at getting to the basket. I’d have Casper as a slightly better passer. Randle is a chip on his shoulder type player and has that edge that you want from your star player.

If you’re keen to watch a good young Kiwi baller turn over to ESPN. Jack Salt from Auckland is playing in the ACC semi for Virginia. Got good game time and played well.

What position does he play? Virginia are tipped for a strong NCAA tourney this year

Virginia has just beaten UNC in the ACC final.

Tony Bennett is the coach of UVA, which is the NZ connection. He played/coached in the NBL.

Is he a draft prospect? He's getting minutes for one of the U.S. more fancied college teams this season
