So I just read today that Bridge went to Lindersfarne and played in the same team as Mason Emerson. I saw Lindersfarne play few times when Emerson was in the team and he was far and away better than anyone else on the field.

Was Bridge a late bloomer or was he in 7th form when Emerson was in a lower form (year)?

    Anyone remember Bridge carving up?

@nepia I can't say I remember Bridge playing for Lindisfarne, although I didn't see much of Lindisfarne at all.

Emerson is a year younger than Bridge, so probably in a lower year?

George Bridge's last year at Lindisfarne College was 2012. Mason Emerson's last year was 2014.

So I guess they probably only would have played together in 2012 (I saw Emerson in games in 2013 and 2014).

Bridge played with Emerson in 2012, also in that team was Hugh Renton (Hurricanes), Tim Cadwalider (Manawatu/20s,Canes Dev), Sam Godwin (Canterbury,Crusaders Dev), Tiaan Falcon (Chiefs), Ben Parsons (Magpies)

No wonder they won the CNI Championship that year.

At Lindisfarne College in his final year - 1987 - a guy called John Timu scored 52 tries for the first XV.

Our coach only brought that up about 52 times a season @Number-10 . Apprently he stepped 17 players to score a try against TA

@Stargazer trade out his name for mine in that article and would describe me when I was there. Real battler who worked hard (although wasn't good at athletics). If only I went to Canterbury I would be an all black.

    Trivia.
George Bridge's father (Crispin) grew up round the corner from me in a little town called Manutuke outside of Gisborne. Only son with six other girls. George pretty much looks exactly like Crispin.

Question is, did you ever have breakfast with them?

We wanted to show support for Old Boy and current All Black George Bridge at the Rugby World Cup. We discovered that George is a very popular name at our school, so let's hear from some of them!...

That maths teacher is probably one of the funniest teachers out!

Crazy the video said he only played one season in firsts. Jesus.

Two things I took out of that....

    1. They changed the school haka....

    2. They figured out a way to make the uniform worse. Red blazer + Kilt!
