I know the refs have to give sanctions if certain criteria is meet. But surely he could have said that was a closed fist, contact to the head, without force? Then it would have been a yellow and not a red

The second week in a row that the Sunwolves suffer a big loss due to a red card. The red card in last week's game was maybe harsh; the red card in this game was absolutely bonkers. Video in this tweet:

This video isn't conclusive, but I'm keen to find out whether other video angles will show any contact with the head. If so, he'll be cited.

Looks like a head clash, not sure about shoulder contact with the head, but this was definitely much more serious than what Ed Quirk did.
