“As you, Hulk Hogan, travel to Wrestlemania by conventional means, the normals you travel with experience malfunctions. As you realize all that is left is total self-destruction, do you, Hulk Hogan, show self pity? Do you, Hulk Hogan, try to reason why? Do you, Hulk Hogan, try and comfort the normals that have even more fear than you? Or, do you, Hulk Hogan, kick the doors out? Kick the cockpit door down? Take the two pilots that have already made the sacrifice so that you can face this challenge. Dispose of them, Hulk Hogan. Assume the controls, Hulk Hogan. Shove that control into a nose dive, Hulk Hogan! Push yourself to total self-destruction. As you realize, Hulk Hogan, you are about to enter a world….. close to parts unknown. Ah, smell it Warriors.”

I was in the capsule from a place long from here, and I came here for one reason: to attack and keep coming, not to ask, but just to give, not to want, but just to send, send the power of the Warrior down everybody's throat in the WWF until they become sick of it. Well you're gonna get sick of it, because this freak of nature right here is just beginning to swell, and when I get big enough brother, there ain't gonna be room for anybody else but me and all the warriors, floating thru the veins in the power of the Warrior.

Looking around the web, this is being reported worldwide on genuine media and news outlets, much like Randy Savage's passing was. Stuff and TV3 carried it here, and Hauraki (bless them!) have put together a video tribute for NZ's coverage. Wrestling websites are reporting tweets etc, and it's clear that Warrior buried a lot of hatchets over WM and Raw weekend, including with Vince (obviously that was done well before last weekend), Jake the Snake, Kevin Nash and Hulk Hogan (there's a photo from WM weekend doing the rounds of Hogan, Warrior and Pat Patterson - Patterson laid out their epic WM6 match). Hogan has tweeted about Warrior's passing, and it was all positive (his Twitter handle is HulkHogan if anyone wants to look into them).

Also, Warrior had just signed a Legends deal, so his family will be financially set for a while, which is also great news given the awful news.

Well, I guess if it's fine for him to put the boot into other people once they've died, then I guess it's fine for people to do the same to him. What he said about Ledger was abhorrent, and I consider myself a Warrior fan.

It's tasteless all around. One doesn't justify the other. Everybody has dark material from their past that they're not proud. Those things needn't be ignored, but they shouldn't be the lead or the summation of a man's life, either, at least not until the autopsy is complete.

There's a good Cheap Heat podcast discussion at ESPN with David Shoemaker & Peter Rosenberg with a balanced discussion about Warrior's career and death. I am very much like Rosenberg, I disliked Warrior for most of his career, the way a performer of limited skills would always squash his opponents, and I disliked his political views, but I've long been fascinated by him. He's complicated.

That triple threat count seems wrong. I'm sure Batista, Orton and Bryan all hit finishers at least once each during the match, and that's not counting the combo Batista bomb/RKO on the announce table.

Forgot to mention earlier. How good is Bray Wyatt. That guy can really work a crowd and sell a match just as good as Ted DiBiase in his prime.

Holy shit, how bad did Orton's back look after he took the worst of it with a TV monitor in his back? He and Batista seemed to go to extraordinary lengths to clear that table, so it's a mystery how they missed the monitor beneath. I'm cringing just thinking about it, that could have crippled the poor bugger!

He was definitely tender for a few minutes... Dedication to the craft from Randy! I got the impression they missed it because it was under the cover on the ground, and when the announce table collapsed, it got moved into view.

I watched that last night - powerful stuff. Kudos to the WWE production team for putting it together so quickly after his death as well, because most of the footage is from WM weekend or just before, and yet it doesn't look rushed at all.

In other news relevant to the thread title, apparently WWE intends to make the network available internationally by the end of 2014.
