City rampant this morning. Jesus what a team
And in the other game, Christiano Ronaldo did what he always does (and apparently has been doing for Real Madrid for years) and won the tie by himself. His team needs 3 goals to go through? He scores 3 goals.

It will be his personal mission to retain the Champions League for his 4th consecutive title. I don't like him as I am more of a Messi man, but both of them are just remarkable in their ability to deliver over years and years.

3-1 away at Bayern is a pretty decent result, and the quarter finals have 4 English sides, Porto, Ajax, Barcelona and Juventus. In all honesty nearly any one of them can win it. Okay probably not Porto.

Given the location and opposition, that is a huge result. Kudos to Klopp!

It is looking like a lottery this season - Athleti, Bayern, Dortmund, Real all goneburger and I would say everyone wants to get one of Porto, Man U, Ajax or Spurs in the quarters.

City v Barcelona and Liverpool v Juventus would really throw the thing wide open.

World, please just eat me up!

Huge result this morning with the scousers tipping up Spurs in the 90th minute.
Chelsea knicked it in the last minutes of the game too.
The fight from CL qualification is very much alive with Chelsea, Gunners, Sputs and ManU all within cooee of third and fouth

I'll take a soft injury-time own goal any day of the week

Liverpool get past a potential banana skin game and keep the pressure on City who have Spurs and United to come. But if City win all their games, they win the title.
Meanwhile Spurs hung onto the 2 leaders for a long time, but like a Kiwi with 2 Kenyans in the 10,000m Spurs have blown up and gone back to the pack.

This season is going to have a great run in. 2 teams neck and neck for the title. 4 teams neck and neck for the remaining champions league spots.
The only thing that looks reasonable settled is relegation, where Burnley are five points clear, though Cardiff City have a game in hand and Burnley an awful stretch. Cardiff v Burnley in a couple of weeks an opportunity for Burnley to all but seal safety.
Means there's not too much chance for teams desperately trying to stay up playing the spoiler but the race at the top should be just as dramatic.

tix for Lpool vs Wolves at Anfield on last day goign for 2,500 pound squid+.
29 years between drinks and I guess it'd be like a religious pilgrimage to Mecca in the kop. I actually want them to win now just so the Dubai sports-washing syndicate can't.
fuck Spurs. Total Spursyness to lose like that. Start with 3 cb's, 2 fb's and 2 defensive midfielders. Plus the alky goalie and that's EIGHT defensive fluffybunnies. So as soon as one of them get the ball the unco pricks are too defensive minded to find the ONE attacking midfielder Poch has picked up the pitch so they just hoof and hope. Instant turnover, back it comes. That said, they made so many 2nd half chances. ffs Poch if Danny Rose is the answer in midfield then the question would have to be why the fuck not Lamela?
See now that we can finally go past spurs tomorrow morning, (v Newcastle) we won't! I bet ya!

Nice reverse jinx. When was the last time Arsenal were ahead on the table?
Arsenal takes the lead in the best of the rest race. I haven't looked at the other contenders draws, but Arsenal's draw is about as friendly as you could hope. This run down the stretch is going to be all about mental toughness and physical fitness (as European competition may take a toll).

December the 2nd when we beat them 4-2!

Championship's a much better comp anyway
It took a particular talent to get promoted with an exciting squad, invest multiple millions in strengthening it and get relegated so quickly.
@Hooroo Wolves knocked United out of the FA Cup by the same score only a few weeks ago. Wonder how long it will be before they regret offering Ole the permanent gig? Maybe never but it's a hell of a tough job given how leaky they are - even on Saturday Watford had twice as many shots as United at Old Trafford. Plenty of talent but still need to find a way to dominate games - he's led a charmed life so far as PSG ripped them a new one over 2 legs but threw it away.
Notts County are fighting grimly in a 2 out of 3 go down battle with mighty Yeovil and Macclesfield to stay in the football league. Heard on commentary that Warnock was offered the Chelsea job in the last season before the premier league started (after taking Notts up 2 divisions in a row) and turned it down. Sliding doors moment - if he had accepted, Notts would have multiple titles and a Champions League trophy and Chelsea would be in League 2.
