Roosters giving Brisbane a complete touch up
-
Warriors back in the winners circle 26-10, but the Titans are shit.
Harris-Tevita looks ok, Green understandably took the reins most of the first half and gave the young fulla a chance to get the feel of the game. He put on a great dummy to no one and step to make one good break.
The Anthony Kiedis/Tevaga combo at dummy half worked well, they made plenty of metres with their darting runs.
The Warriors gave away a shitload of penalties, which a better team would punish them for. The majority of them came the 2nd and 4th quarters thick and fast. Certainty something that needs addressing.
-
After last week's shitfest the Warriors needed to win this game against the Titans and they did 26-10.
- The officiating in this game was dire. So many missed calls or wrong calls by the refs. The Titans were obstructing on several attacking plays and were allowed to get away with it, and in one play were awarded for it with a penalty. Baaaddd.
- Chanel Harris-Tevita didn't have to do anything tonight except kick field goals and look like he is only 15 years-old. So the Titans knew to target Blake Green all night long and he was bashed around including on a suspect tackle by Moiaki Fotuaika. He played on but once the game was decided Greeny was on the sideline with ice around his ankle.
- Having Green as the only playmaker is a problem for this team but it is fixable, especially when Isaac Luke returns. But even when Luke is back, the Warriors would be smart to keep Karl Lawton on the bench as an extra playmaker. Lawton only played about 40 minutes tonight (first 20 minutes and the last 20 minutes) but his play-calling around the ruck area was impressive, passes were accurate and he helped reignite the Warriors in the final 20 when it "felt" like they were going to let the Titans run them down in the home straight.
- The defensive effort was solid tonight but some weak tackling is still there. Dale Copley's try was scored because Adam Blair (and others) were just grabbing at the jersey and not wrestling Copley to the ground. Poor positioning meant the edges were exposed out wide instead of being one on one with their opposite number.
- This was the first game where I noticed Tohu Harris. He made about 150 metres tonight plus a try late in the second half. Mate sitting next to me is adamant Harris will play in the halves this season, especially after Green went off. Have to say, sadly, he might be right in that thinking.

The comp is emulating the players, and is drunk.
3 golden point games over the weekend, but not sure you would call any of them quality. Knights v Dragons last night was hilariously stupid at the end. The Tigers did everything but beat the Panthers, and then lost in GP. Souths somehow losing to a Manly side that lost its best player.
Melbourne played like dogshit yesterday but were lucky they were playing the Dogs. Remain unbeaten
The Roosters buttfucked the Broncos, who are trash.
The fucking Raiders smoked the Cowboys, who are trash, and i reckon the coach is in the gun there.
Even the Eels aren't a basket case.Four rounds in and i can't tell you who looks like they will fill out the top 4 with the Storm and the Roosters. And the Origin period could be absolute carnage this year as well. Every game is a lottery, unless it involves Melbourne, the Roosters, or from the other point of view, a team from Queensland

How do they stay under the salary cap with that kind of squad?
-
lol. Change my mind!
Storm and Roosters seem to be the only teams that can get consistency from their squads. Def back the Rabbits to be in the top 4 mix, but they could well fall over.
Beyond those three it's going to be a bit of a cripple fight imo. Very early days but can see the Eels making a bit of a charge, and no fucking idea what is up with Penrith.

I assume we are talking about the Roosters? Fuck knows. Rep players in every line, but under the cap. Cronk on enough that his leaving was enough to fit them over-paying Pangai Jnr.
I guess they all just love playing there so much the play for massive unders

Yeah. If @Paekakboyz thinks they could field two teams and have both make the top four...
But in all seriousness, it's good players who want to win trophies, not stuff their pockets with cash...
-
In other silly news of silliness, the Sharks are interested in making Phil Gould their new General Manager following his successful
fivesixseveneight year plan at Penrith. -
that was more that I think those two pretty much are the top 4 - or lets just say the top two. 2-4 is only slightly less murky than 5-8

The Warriors only get to play the Bulldogs and the Titans twice, the rest of the time they have to play actual NRL teams.

Bottom four ranking for people on TSF who don't get initial sarcasm:
- Infrequent poster who has had one too many drinks tonight and still blames Wayne Barnes for the 2007 RWC
- M4L
- Budding right-wing extremists on the political forum page
