I think so far I've locked in:
    Airbourne
    Dire Straits
    The Game
    Lagwagon
    Timbaland

You started this thread.........you've had more time than all of us to think about it.......

    .....and that is your list.......

    wow.

If it weren't for some uncanny Rugby knowledge and wit you would have been booted off here ages ago.

A isn’t the easiest letter to fill but ABBA?
Are people expecting to throw a cross dressing party or something.

    @Crucial

3rd biggest selling band of all-time with sales of over 400 million. Surprise, surprise there are many, many who love their music. 🤩

I disagree that A was a difficult letter. You could have had A-Ha or AC-DC.

If you are doing prog you’ll need Dream Theater instead of Dire Straits, Yes instead of Yanni, Emerson Lake and Palmer instead of Enya. You’ll also need Iron Butterfly, Van der Graf Generator, Curved Air, Gong, (The) Nice, Marillion, Tangerine Dream, Soft Machine and Ozric Tentacles. No idea about Q though. Queen is a bit of a stretch for prog rock.

    @JC Eno instead of ELP

Q - quango. An offshoot of Asia who were an offshoot of Yes.

@dogmeat I prefer Eno, but ELP are pretty much the very definition of prog IMO. Anybody pretentious enough to cover Mussorgsky, Gershwin, Bach and Parry and put them unselfconsciously alongside their own Benny the Bouncer and Still You Turn Me On clearly believes the self to be a Serious Artist.

    Never heard Quango.Sounds awful.

Right, about time. Taking a stab but not locking it in. My main concern here is the distinct lack of cheesy 80's (toying with Roxette instead of Otis, but that might require Roy Orbison instead of Offspring). I know I know, no RHCP.

    ACDC
    The Black Seeds
    Cake
    Dire Straits
    E Street Band
    Foo Fighters
    The Game
    Ben Harper
    Incubus
    John Butler Trio
    Maynard James Keenan
    Lagwagon
    Metallica
    NOFX
    The Offspring
    Elvis Presley
    Queen
    Otis Redding
    Slash
    Timbaland
    UB40
    Velvet Revolver
    Pharrel Williams
    Xhibit
    Neil Young
    Rob Zombie

It actually ends up being quite depressing in a way - I love Fat Freddy's but how can I biff Foos? Maybe take Dave Grohl instead I guess? Plus, how could I go the rest of my life without ever hearing Poi e again.

Right so clarifying - taking an artist gives you their full body of work. Just to throw a spanner in the works.
