@rotated not really. They aren't in as strong a position as RM at the moment.

@rotated I think they'd have agreed to almost any contract duration up to 2023. It's not like we're stacked with test quality first fives ...

Would be interesting to know where he sits in terms of cash offered on this contract.

In my view, the only people I might offer more are Retallick and Beauden (who checking their ages I see were born four days apart in a good week for NZ rugby back in 1991).

According to Dave Rennie, Aaron Cruden is not going to Glasgow.

If Glasgow Warriors supporters had started dreaming about what life might be like with the former All Black Aaron Cruden running the show at Scotstoun in the coming years, then now is the time to wake up.

Cruden, a protege and friend of Glasgow coach Dave Rennie and the subject of all sorts of chat linking him with a move from Montpellier to Scotland, will not be playing his rugby for the Warriors next season. "He's not coming," said Rennie.

"There was a lot of speculation around Aaron and has been for a long period of time. I'm constantly talking to him. I know him well and we're pretty close. I'd love him to join us. I think he'd be great around educating our young 10s, Adam [Hastings] and Brandon [Thomson], but he's not coming."

But you never actually know what is around the corner.

Yes there are guys that make Age grade rep teams, but who actually kicks on and then gets picked is still unknown.

Cruden has a year left on his Montpellier contract and they aren't releasing him apparently.

Josh Ioane for sure, way ahead of Cameron. I think he is 23 now so next five or six years likely to be his optimum years so give him some exposure now. Seems to be growing into his role nicely for the Highlanders, step up in game pressure against Canada or Namibia would be ideal start for him

@Nevorian Maybe try him against the Argies during the Rugby Championship, but I wouldn't let him take a spot in the RWC squad that could be used for a more versatile impact player. They could keep him on stand-bye in case the worst happens (to BB or RM).

"Jordie Barrett rules out first-five option for All Blacks"

    does not equal

"At an absolute pinch [I can play there] but no, I'm not a 10."

Emergency backup for Mo'unga vs Namibia or Canada - that's an absolute pinch.

Not saying he is going to be in the plans but a better headline would be

"Jordie Barrett says he could be a first-five option for All Blacks if they were fucking desperate"

@Machpants I just saw Jordie's response to the 10 question on TV.

He was laughing, but pretty dismissive, "No,...No..... look at an absolute pinch, but no I'm not a 10."

He's possibly been reading my posts! 🙂

It's your negative attitude that is going to cost us this WC! 🙂

Jordie if you're reading his, believe in yourself mate. You can play any position in the backline.

    😎

    @mariner4life Fuck that.

Shag - I'm available to play first five.

Old, slow and haven't played in years - but, I can play the Cooper Cronk role - do nothing except tell everyone else what to do. 🙂

We don't need these sort of selfish attitudes in the All Blacks mate.

@mariner4life Of course we do. Without Wayne Smith there - are you really going to leave it to Foster?
