Leon Macdonald musta entered the conversation now!

    Back to back wins!

Is that Leons doing or the solid foundations Tana has laid? šŸ˜‰

Hah! Tana just built off what JK left.

and HE just worked from Lam. That's it - Lam is the key; next AB coach

Dave Rennie has shrugged off suggestions that he is in line to coach the Wallabies after the World Cup, saying that he would not quit his role with Glasgow Warriors for the Australian job.

Murmurings within Australian rugby circles hinted that Rennie would be Rugby Australia’s favoured option to take over from incumbent coach Michael Cheika from 2020 onwards if Wales coach Warren Gatland and England coach Eddie Jones were unavailable for the position.

However, Rennie put those rumours to rest when quizzed about the topic by The Telegraph.

ā€œIt’s just a bit of speculation, as often happens when there’s a potential job up for grabs,ā€ he said.

ā€œI certainly haven’t spoken to anyone, and my contract with Glasgow takes me through until the middle of 2020. I’d imagine from an international point of view most of these jobs are going to be gobbled up straight after a World Cup.

ā€œI knew that was probably going to be the case when I signed on for another season, so it’s just speculation.

ā€œYou never say never, but what I’ve said is I’m assuming that, like a lot of teams, they’ll probably make changes in coaches immediately after the World Cup. That’s November 2019. I’m committed here until July 2020, so that’s why it’s unlikely.ā€

If he is able to put together his own strong cartel - perhaps higher.

If Foster pulls together a Cartel of Gatland (or Schmidt if there's any of his fluffers still around) and Robertson then fans might feel a little bit more confident.

Jason Leonard (Fun Bus) was appointed Lions Chairman this week. Fun Bus is an admirer of Gats' coaching and would clearly love him to do both the Lions and England jobs.

As head coach. He was never in the picture.

Assistants and technical advisors can jump in and out. Being the incumbet Lions coach may be enough to keep ones ego afloat enough to take such a role under Fozzie.

I'm pretty sure he was in the picture as head coach, maybe not favourite. Certainly not now.

Tony Brown has thrown his hat in the ring. Makes sense as an Assistant Coach but not the top job.

Razor looking like the firm favourite now, especially if the Crusaders win a third title.

Even if Hansen wins the World Cup??
In which case the favorite would have to be Foster (unfortunately) wouldn't it?

No. I would down vote if I could.

Foster is not the answer. To any question.

Razor appears to be the 'manager' type that would be competing to take over from Shag in a similar way to Foster would.
I like the innovative thinking of Brown which would bring some fresh ideas.
Question for me would be Foster/Brown or Razor/Brown.

O'Halloran is another in the vein of Brown that I rate highly. He looks to have attached himself to team Rennie though.

@Crucial Gotta be Razor/Brown if anything! Don't want Foster anywhere near please!
I wouldn't be averse to Razor/O'Gara combo either.

    @Jailbreak7

Schmidt is the outstanding HC out of all Candidates followed by Gatland & Razor

Razzor needs to coach in Europe to learn more about different styles and ideas

Schmidt has coached in France & Ireland and has had success in both places

Plus Irish have an excellent record vs NZ while he's been Head Coach

Gatland would've been a close 2nd if he was available but he'll be likely coaching B & I Lions in SA in 2021

@SammyC Or hoping to change Joe Schmidt's mind during the rest of 2019.

Henry wasn't appointed until the week of Christmas in 2003 (only remember this as was on holidays back in NZ at the time) so an early January appointment wouldn't be crazy.

The Home Nations and EU club rugby appointments will already be made. Australia is the only role going that would have once attracted potential AB candidates and they are broke. They could honestly wait until after Waitangi Day to pop an ad in the paper and get the same slate of candidates.
