30 wins, 1 loss, 97 points, 25 in front of 3rd. No shame in that 2nd. Champs league final makes this a hell of a season

That would have won the PL 25 of the 27 years it has been in place! Only more points, this year 98 and last year 100 (According to Sky Sports, but I also though Man U did 100 points in a season)

Off season will be interesting with the comings and goings. Are Chelsea still banned from trading players?

I think so. They lost an appeal? I don't know if it precludes them from selling though?

I think you're right as there is talk of Hazard leaving.

This offseason is going to fascinating. I think Spurs are best placed to close some of the gap to the top 2. We have a stable setup, but will need to buy a few players who can contribute to the first team immediately and flush out some deadwood, as our poor late season form seemed to be a result of our thin squad flaming out; 2 months ago we were in the title discussion before we fell off a cliff and I feel fortunate we made the top 4 (not without some help from BHA). ManU looked to be coming back under Ole but since he got signed they have fallen away badly. Still, it isn't his team and if he is given the opportunity to trade who knows? If Chelsea players start leaving (I heard Hazard was going too) and they can't buy any in they are going to struggle. Having said that, they have a massive number of up and comers on their books that may be able to be brought up and contribute. Can Sarri coach up young players? Will he be there? Will management tolerate building from the grass up for a change? I guess they won't have much choice. Arsenal looked to have gained but still seem to suffer similar problems as the late Wenger years. They need a squad clean out too

I'm picking spurs won't have much cash to throw round in the market at the moment. In fact you may lose one or two good ones to massive offers.

We won't purchase much, we never do....

Pochettino doesn't tend to want big money guys. But we can't just buy projects that can't contribute immediately. Eriksen and Alderwiereld are at risk of leaving, interesting times indeed

I'm guessing the fact that the interest payments let alone capital repayments on the loans for the new stadium must be taking a huge amount of the cashflow hence not all that much being made available for the transfer market.

Will be interesting to see if Spurs cash in on any of their big name players to fund strengthening the squad. They fell away badly in the title race in the final 10 games - their 27th game was against Burnley and a win would have had them 2 points behind City with 11 games to go. They finished 27 points behind City. Possibly an earlier exit in the Champions League would have helped them maintain a title challenge - actually not getting out of the group would have been best!

City won the same number of games as last season (32 of 38) and right now you can't see any team other than Liverpool being able to win 30 games in a season.

Aldewiereld was linked with a move to old Trafford a year ago (🤣) and Christian Eriksen has not signed a new contract. They are two players that I suspect Pochettino would like to keep but may be forced to part with. Our defence was not as good as precious seasons, we lack speed on the flanks and I would be happy to upgrade Trippier and Davies. The number of our players involved in the world cup and the subsequent run of injuries exposed our thin squad, which has not been added to for a few windows. If he stays consistent, the manager will want high work rate players, not necessarily big names. I reckon we need at least 3 or 4 new bodies, one or two more if those two aforementioned players are allowed to leave

@Hooroo Terry v Lampard will be the theme I reckon.

Not sure if Derby get to keep Mason Mount and Harry Wilson if they get to the EPL (Mount is at Chelsea and Wilson at Liverpool). 25 goals between them and one is a midfielder and the other a winger .....

Not sure if Villa get to keep Tammy Abraham if they get to the EPL (he's at Chelsea as well) - 26 goals this season. Or if someone bigger will come in for Grealish.

    @KiwiPie

Happy for Fat Frank! Agonising for Leeds as the first team to lose the tie after winning the away leg first!

My mate is an avid Leeds fan and he will be gutted. He would probably attend 20-30 games a season. He's probably still on it to drown his sorrows.

I'm being lazy but what is Derby's biggest Derby in PL if they make it?

Leeds appear magnetically opposed to the Premier League. They just can't get back no matter how they look at times during the season

@Hooroo Leicester is their closest rival - always rivalry between Leicester, Derby and the Nottingham clubs (well one of the Nottingham clubs anyway!).

And Aston Villa are back in the top flight - they should always be there with their size and history. Great job by Dean Smith but with their top scorer belonging to Chelsea, it could be a tricky time for them.

@KiwiPie Hopefully we can do a deal to get him back. I feel we probably need reinforcements in our backline if we're gonna look at survival. Midfield options are decent but if we can't get Abraham to stay then we definitely need more options up front as we'll only have Kodjia as our main striker and he hasn't really recaptured his form of 16/17 mainly due to injury.
