Wooohooo. New PB - by a grand 6m. 8334 for 30 minutes. Was cruising for 23 minutes, then hit a really big wall, and was going to stop, but carried on pulling, and with two minutes to go, stepped the rat back up, and slid in 6 metres ahead of past be st.[/quote]
Good work! That's exactly 1000m better than my 30min distance.. how depressing

What's your 5k and 10k records?

    5k in 17:36
10k in 36:45.6
6k in 21.07.3

So you can join the TSF rowing team Duluth.

Although, what / when / why we are going to row, buggered if I know. You're logging your times at concept2.com??

To get that 30 minutes time down, I think I cam going to have to start doing some hard longer rows - and looking at the above, perhaps if I start doing some serious 10k cracks, I might have some energy left at th end of the 8k nudges. Or go 40 minutes and see what comes of those... Decisions, decisions.

I haven't been logging my times on there yet.. but I will start doing that soon.

I've been struggling to find the time to row recently as I'm commuting 2 hours to get to work. I still managed to do 40k last week though.
When this contract ends in a couple of weeks I'll be able to make some decent progress.

My modest times are:

5km 19:46
30min 7330
10km 41:44

nothing wrong with those - I reckon anything sub 2:00/500m and you are starting to get there.

How many metres have you clocked up so far in total - I hit the 6 million mark the other day.

    I think I'm around 400,000m

So if I keep doing 30-40k a week I'll reach my first million in 4 or 5 months.
Although I might try to make 40k my min weekly distance when I'm working in London again.

45k a week is just 20 minutes a day... Easy when you look at it like that  Not when the rowing machine looks more like a torture device from the the 1600s...!!

    Thursday
5000m 19:17.1 and 40 minutes 10,710m

Friday
10,000 - 36:40.0 which was a new PB, by accident, didn't know, just a good hard row that went right. 40 seconds over 10 thousand metres doesn't sound like much to get down to 36 minutes, but it is!!

    Strong work Barty!

You'll be in the Olympics next!

Saw James Cracknell wandering around at the tri Mrs Luigi was competing in last week. He's a tall fucker - must be good having those big long levers working the oars.
