Now or never: Taking it to the next level

Christ, what a shit week. Have been up until 12-1 most nights and 3:30 on Wednesday night. Fook it.

Have managed to fit weights in at around lunchtime but running has been halfarsed.

Monday night: 35 min run.

Tuesday: Back and tris. Ironically the weight days have been excellent. Maybe I'm focussing more or something.

Wednesday: I didn't do shit.

Thursday: Shoulders, late 35 min run.

Friday: 3km at 14 km/h. Plus bicep curls, pushups and abs.

Not that bad when all is written, but am seriously lacking sleep and meals need to be better.

Have felt shattered most of the weekend but the human body is a seriously bizarre thing. At about 4 the wife suggested (from the comfort of the couch) that I go for a run. It was the last thing I felt like doing but thought fark it. Eldest ran with me for about a km or so and then I just did a Forrest Gump. Ended up running for 1hr45min. Went pretty well and I felt I had something left in the tank at the end which is a good sign. Will sleep well tonight.

Ha ha the wife must have wanted a good sleep and seen you looking frisky! A good run will sort that dudes wagon, he'll sleep like a baby!

Another Cnut of a week. Usual routine. Starts off well and then goes to poo.

The wife and kids left for Norway on Tuesday and we had Red Rooster at the airport. I had the most disgusting looking and tasting "chicken" burger. Would make a farking Billy goat puke.

The week sort of went downhill from there. Had a run on Wednesday and trained shoulders on Thursday but had another 16 hour day on Friday. Felt like shit after that.

This morning I did a quick 4km, followed by bicep curls, 100 pushups and abs. Felt much better. Will try for 2 hour run tomorrow.

Any chance you can push back on the work bizo? Or is it just the way it is? Crazy that the thing you need most (aside from rooties) when you are working those kinds of hours is exercise! Nothing smashes stress and work fatigue faster than a good run or tin session.

You are still getting enough in for maintenance bro, but I know you are building up for the long run. Keep working on that base (not bass, as in your big booty!) and hopefully you can up the ante over a shorter period of time.
-

Could you move your training to before work?

It's a wee bit harder but it no excuses and sets you up very well to smash the shit out of your day at work

Respect your discipline to make that routine bro. Agree that hitting shit up in the morning makes for a mean day.
-
I'm self-employed so I really have to take the work when its there. I also missed a fair bit of work last year due to the illness situation. Should calm down in August.

With the family now overseas I should have more time for training. But God it's quiet at home without them here. -

Its just hard to get up at 6 when I don't get to bed until 12:30-1. My work comes exclusively from Scandinavia, so I really have to stay awake until the end of the work day there.

I also can't do just mornings when I want to do weights and cardio on the same day.

Ultimately its the definition of first world problem. Just makes me wish I didn't waste the best part of my late teens and 20s with a dodgy kebab in one hand, a beer in the other and my head in the toilet.

Know that feel... -
Sunday: Breakfast then 2hr run. Went ok. Struggled a bit, but legs held up.

Monday: Chest and biceps. Once again, top notch. Felt fatigued at the start but got into it and felt good by the end.

Damn, is it Friday already.

Not a bad week. Family overseas, so very very quiet at home. Very weird experience. Such a bloody paradox. When they're there its like, damn I need some alone time. But when they're gone, its suddenly way too quiet. Anyway...

Tuesday: Tris and back. Ok. Was a bit rushed.
Wednesday: 40 minute run.
Thursday: Shoulders.
Friday: Fast 4km, biceps curls, pushups, abs, pullups.

Will have 2 fairly lightish runs on weekend and then half-marathon next Sunday.

Cheers mate.

Picked up my number with the little electronic chip yesterday. All very high tech. Am quite excited now, but the 6am start will be a bitch. Will mean getting up at about 3:30 to get down to the Gold Coast in enough time. If the family was here, I'd hire a unit but it would be ridiculously extravagant to pay a couple of hundred bucks to get a good nights sleep before a run. Will be pretty cold and dark too, so will have to take an old jumper to ditch after the start. -
That's my favourite place at the coast! Farking love it there. Have a great time. Which resort are you staying at?
-
Anywhere is good there. Hopefully the weather is good. Its a beautiful spot regardless. Don't let the close proximity to NSW put you off

Bloody hell Thursday already.

Sunday: 1:30 run. Went pretty well. For the first time since I started the HM training I saw a farking vision in front of me. Unfortunately she was only walking, so I had to run right on by. Further on when crossing the road, I notice she had started running behind me, but it would have looked more than a little suss if I'd then applied the breaks. That's a shame, because every little distraction helps when running long distances. I did notice that my lats were a little sore from Saturday training, so I'll make sure to stay away from the weights at least 2 days prior to HM.

Took Monday off.

Tuesday: Chest and biceps. All good.

Wednesday: Back and tris.

Thursday: 40 minute run. Nice and easy.

Will now rest up until Sunday morning. Really have no idea how it will go. It'll be dark and cold, but hopefully not wet. Nervous now.
