I'd have preferred the Hutt Rec Ground for this game.

Finally, McKay scores. The best player on the field thus far. Already had a few chances earlier.

McKay looks a lot better at fullback than on the wing.

You won't be seeing any highlights for his lineout throwing.

    JGB's passing has been shite.

This is more what I remember of Mitre10 rugby at this level; poor skills and not great to watch.

So many teams hav ebeen good; it's disappointing to see this

I forgot Aso was even on the field. Most of the Wellington backs have barely seen the ball in this half.

How long do you have to keep up a player before O'Keefe calls it a maul? Ages, apparently.

More like tough watching rather than a game between 2 tough teams 🙂

I think Wellington would benefit greatly by subbing Renata off, bringing T Umaga Jensen on and moving Proctor to Fullback. Renata is just so sluggish now.

Plus are the commentators legally allowed to call the Cake Tin - Sky stadium just yet?

Rather than the level of rugby going down generally, I think there's more been a shift to other teams. Canterbury is suffering from its own success (losing a lot of players to the ABs in recent years); Wellington has always gone up and down over the years (they're clearly worse this year). But other teams have become better the last few years and play exciting rugby. Ta$man being the best example, but also Auckland. Same in the Championship division.
