@Stargazer it’s funny as you will very well know when the magpies were struggling a few seasons back...
It’s bad enough when your not playing well, but it seems when everything is going against you..even the officiating calls go against you..not a Turbos supporter by any stretch, but I do feel them ...this won’t be the last team Ta$man will put plenty on.

@Steven-Harris What's funny? I'm not gloating about any team's demise. It's hard for any team when they're struggling like Southland the last couple of years, Manawatu this year, and the Magpies, BOP and Northland for several years as well. But there are regional rivalries, which make me feel a bit less sorry for some teams than for others.

@Stargazer hey I just wanted to make it clear , I don’t enjoy any of the regional teams getting trampled like this..,I was just lamenting when you are struggling it’s seems even catching breaks from officials goes against you..we should not be surprised by this result given what Ta$man have at their disposal..
Coms were not made to be offensive ..

Parkinson should have been yellow carded..when your battling, all you need is poor officiating

Yeah - and I wish he had been.

It's the same unnecessary foolishness that earned Dane Coles his yellow. Just because you've got hold of a little guy you don't need to absolutely smash him. Stupid footy!

Aside from that - Ta$man need some work on passing accuracy. A really clinical display would have been quite a bit worse for Manawatu!

@Chris-B that’s the scary, had they been accurate on the pass, the score could have been anything..I can’t see anybody challenging the Mako..good for the region and they have so much talent coming through even at school level..have you seen the number 7 from Nelson College..?

@Steven-Harris Need to make hay, while the sun shines - because turnover is massive in Mitre10 Cup.

If you start looking at who is definitely leaving Ta$man and who will likely be on All Blacks duty (and who Canterbury might be waving their chequebook at), we'll be losing plenty.

I've read about Segner, but haven't seen him play.

Squire looked pretty sharp in highlights. How's Mako front row go?

How was Atu Moli in this game? Did he get some meaningful time on the field?

Oh and also that 10 you poached from Australia and stashed away in the academy up there.

Squire was good - took plenty of lineout ball, aggressive with ball in hand, slick pass to put Taufua in, and made his tackles - including a pretty hefty one on Otere Black. Can't recall any mistakes - if he is in the frame he won't have hurt his chances.

Moli got the whole second half (Perry played the first 40). I wasn't watching him, but when Manawatu rolled out two huge substitute props, they gave the Ta$man scrum a touch up a couple of times. I'd think Cron will be re-winding those to watch again.

Hemopo only played the first 40 minutes. Frizell went 80 minutes with a few errors - losing the ball in contact and a forward pass as I recall. Otherwise good.

Nankivell hobbled off with a twisted ankle - looked like the sort of thing that might keep him out for a week at worst (touch wood).

Jordan was fun to watch, as usual. Mitch Hunt had a shortish stint, but looked good. Other guy who looked slick was the Japanese reserve halfback - fast accurate delivery and a nice runner. Actually, pretty much everyone from Ta$man looked good, but those guys particularly caught the eye.

@shark I reckon you won't get much use out of Will next year - even if you open that massive red and black chequebook!

    Who is the Aussie 10?
