Ireland will have huge pressure on them for their QF as they've never won a RWC knock-out game.

Yeah, I reckon Wales / Australia will see a good opportunity to take Ireland in that semi because of the psychological and physical effort Ireland will need to put into that match to break their duck

Ireland looked good but how poor were Scotland? Looking like a tier 2 side.

Yeah there’s a reason Scotland vetoed the world rugby comp. would have not been surprising to see them relegated.

    Ireland look excellent IMO

Ireland are very well-drilled and well-organised team. They will make the Semi Finals of this tournament at least.

Yes they are. But they were given an armchair ride by Scotland. I didn't see anything new from Ireland. If you see what England and Wales did to them in the 6N (and the English warm-up game), they can be taken down for sure. Scotland were really poor, I expected more from them. The Irish 2nd row is class though.

So you are picking Ireland to beat SA in their QF? That game is 50/50 for me.

I really enjoying listening to Joe at press conferences, his genuine love and knowledge for the game really comes through and always answers questions in depth and offers a lot.

I'm 70/30 in favour of SA for that game, I haven't seen anything yet to sway the NZ v SA final prediction

No, I'm not - I agree that one is a complete lottery. However, I am saying that Wales / Aus should feel like they could get a jump on Ireland, who would have put a lot of mental and physical energy into finally winning a QF.

A good parallel would be the ABs vs France in 2015, where we were huge and, from a mental perspective, you could sense that the team put a lot into that match. A week later and we were a little bit flatter and were one lineout steal away from maybe going out of the cup.

Parallels can also be drawn with France in 2007, where they were great against us in a QF and horrible the next week in the SF against a decidedly average English team (see also France and us in 2011).

If Ireland do squeak a win in a SF despite not playing well, that will, I think, put them in very good stead for a final (see us also in 2015).

    Def agree with that bit
