I can't think of any. The Sunday papers in NZ were the last hold outs of decent standards for a while but they lost it a few years back.
-
I think the mail was at the forefront of the vaccines cause autism bullshit in the late 90s they also got caught plagiarising an article off cracked last year.
I'm not sure if papers were ever that wonderful to start with but they haven't handled the threat of the internet very well , having said that I'm not sure what else they could have done when they suffered a huge loss of income through advertising .
I stopped buying them years ago , if I pick one up now I'm usually quite surprised how far behind the international news section is and how often they tell half the story. Case in point is the crims in Aussie, apparently one of the deportees was Keys bodyguard in Afghanistan and is a war hero etc etcetc. Recent photos show him with a gang tattoo around his throat and he's a gang associate at a time when the Aussies are trying to crack down on them with some fairly over top laws. I'm struggling to understand why I should feel sorry for him. -

You might not like her music but it's pretty unfair to put her in the same category as Max Key and Millie Holmes.

I used to get the SST and read the whole thing (minus the property etc) over the course of a Sunday. The last time I flipped through one it took me about 10 minutes before I'd run out of something even half decent to read.
-

I remember those days fondly. I've recently managed to flip through/read the BoP Times and make a start on the Herald in-between getting seated on the plane and take-off. Sigh.
-

What catagory is that? And what are the other two in? I was thinking they seem a little obsessed with them .

Who looks at the part with the photos of rich people getting married or going to parties? Apart from other rich people obviously . -

I was thinking along the lines of Lorde is famous for something - her music. The other two are famous for being the offspring of other famous people.
-

What's weird is magazines don't seem to be suffering as badly as papers, Bay fisher is not a nationwide mag . Not bad seeing as it started off as a bop only publication.

I think one of those "lads" mags like Ralph or something died recently though. I'm not sure why they exist in the first place , -

Yep, I've heard comment recently that circulation is up for (some? most?) magazines. I suppose it's the appeal of a more in depth read. -

Its the papers obsession with them that they have in common, also its not Lordes music that I can't stand. I suspect she has the political leanings of a young Eleanor Catton and I'm surprised she hasn't shared them with us yet.

In a rwc full of important news such as the Tongan team eating Nandos and the abs eating pies this is a standout.http://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/celebrities/73574875/Lorde-pretty-proud-of-All-Blacks
-

Yeah,a lot of magazines seem to have taken to the web a bit better than most papers. But it looks its all bad news for the lads mags though, I was trying to find out which one went belly up and it was something called zoo. The article said fhm and ralph are gone too http://www.stuff.co.nz/entertainment/72173586/Racy-lad-mag-Zoo-Weekly-to-close-last-edition-October-12
-
