Well this has flown under my radar...

The Baabaas have a November tour, starting with a "home"game against Fiji at Twickenam on 16 November, followed by an away game against Brazil in Sao Paolo on 20 November, and then another away game against Wales at the Principality Stadium on 30 November.

Delighted I have some more - hopefully - good rugby to enjoy.

    A bit more info.

Eddie Jones will coach the Baabaas for the game against Fiji on 16/11.
Warren Gatland will coach the Baabaas against Wales on 30/11.

It's unclear who will coach the team against Brazil.

Springboks Lukhanyo Am, Makazole Mapimpi, Tendai “Beast” Mtawarira and Herschel Jantjies have already been confirmed for the Barbarians. Rory Best, Mathieu Bastereaud and Morne Steyn will also play for the Baabaas.

The Barbarians v Wales game is a double header. The Barbarians Women's team will play Wales' women.

@Stargazer Gatland coaching the Baabaas against Wales! Now that is a surprise. Someone has a sense of humour 🙂

I thought Gatland would be on the first plane back to Chiefs land, obviously has a few loose ends to sort out first. Wouldn’t be surprised if Gatland Jnr gets a run.

I imagine coaching the Baabaa's - as well as being a bloody fun time - would be a very nice little xmas bonus.

Yeah I think they get a very nice bonus, didn’t an Aussie player get pulled up at the airport with their BaaBaas cash?

John Mitchell will join Eddie Jones in the Barbarians' coaching set-up for the game against Fiji and will then take over as head coach for the game against Brazil.

@scribe The Baabaas are always releasing the names of their squad members one by one (or two, three), like they're dripfeeding us the names. I haven't seen more names than posted earlier; only exception is Pumas & Jaguares prop Ramiro Herrera, whose name I had missed.

If players' travel pictures on social media are anything to go by, there's a possibility that David Havili and Andrew Makalio? are in the squad (and Pete Samu), but that's a wild guess haha. I'm only sure of Samu being in London.

Edited to add that Nigel Owens has received special dispensation from World Rugby to officiate the Wales v Baabaas game.

Pretty hard to get too excited about that side - I guess WC year has struck, not exactly the Baabaa teams of yesteryear full of stars and typically just one uncapped player!

@Bones indeed. Lots of tickets still available and I go most years. Pretty sure I won’t go this year with that squad.

Am, Mapimpi and Mtawarira from the SA RWC squad and Havili, Makalio and Samu from The Nation of Ta$man.

Clearly Eddie and Mitch are picking winners! 🙂

**Wallabies trio escape ARU censure over cash stash

    Greg Growden
    March 28, 2011

The Australian Rugby Union will take no action after three Wallabies were issued with infringement notices by the Australian Federal Police after failing to declare money to Customs officers. Matt Giteau, Adam Ashley-Cooper and Drew Mitchell were investigated by the AFP after not declaring more than $60,000 in cash to Customs when they returned to Sydney following the Wallabies' end-of-season tour last December. The money was earned when the trio played for the Barbarians at the end of the northern hemisphere tour. The players said they had forgotten to declare the money, and were fined $220 each by the AFP. An ARU spokesman yesterday said the union had made inquires on the matter. ''It is important to note it is not an offence to bring in to the country more than $10,000 in foreign currency,'' the spokesman said. ''The issue has been dealt with, and we consider the matter closed.''*

It is an offence not to declare over $10,000 hence the fine. I do wonder why they were paid in cash though? Avoiding the ATO with overseas earnings?

@OomPB Schalk Brits was never mentioned in the Barbarians' media releases, but the absence of Hershell Jantjies surprises me. Haven't been able to find out why he isn't in the squad.
